NYCTA! pics!

What reskins? I was just repairing broken content. It turned out great, but it has the same crappy brakes that the default R46 has. It's absolutely ridiculous how poorly it brakes and how long it takes to release the brakes (sometimes you can't release the brakes).

Ganna try and put this into my R160 for my new NYCTA Route.

Awesome. You know what's funny? My ficitional city of Montclair has an Oliver Hill Park. And to resize your signature, you'd have to do it in a photo editor before importing into Photobucket, and then putting it here.

I'm also planning To Reskin The R62 but with ads this time. And no their will be no release date until I say it's ready. (That applys to u trainlevel.):hehe:

Confused about my mention. Or is there another person on the Trainz forums who has a username that starts with "trainlevel"? In anycase, this is all looking great guys, keep up the good work! :)
Eric :)
P.S. I'm not paranoid about release dates. In fact, I PREFER waiting for something instead of rushing it.

Thanks I've been making a bunch of these R160 FUNDs and yes I stole the name off your old sig back at the other fourm when you had tha A line R160 as your sig I liked the name so I'm using it in my NYCTA Route I won't start building that line till the new stations come out cuz I need the terminal pieces for the LaGuardia Station.

Just a word of warning... This post and the next contain huge images (1366x768).

I created my own rendition of the 42nd Street Shuttle. Though it does have some obvious inaccuracies (placement of walls, stairs, beam colors, etc.), it does make excellent use of the Super Pack's signals, tunnels, and spline stations. These pics were taken in a session that involves three unpainted R62As running back and forth on a continuous schedule. What you're seeing is an earlier version; an updated version was posted to the DLS.

To start off, two four-car sets sit on tracks 3 and 4 at Times Square.

The track 1 set, three cars in length, pulls into Grand Central.

The track 3 set departs Times Square.

The junction at track 2 in Grand Central.

A nice view down the line. The tunnel itself is four tracks with one track (former southbound express) no longer in use.

The Times Square end of the line. Notice the wiggle waggle in the tracks; that's an artifact of using the magnificent station splines in the kit.

That's it for now, but I'll be posting a video shortly.

Awesome. You did an excellent job here! The signals in the tunnels are basic upstanding signals. Also, there's no signals at the interlocking before grand central. Just hand thrown switches. But that's just the foamer in me speaking. I'm really liking this!!

Ah, thank you. I couldn't find a detailed track diagram, only an overview on Google and the route length on Wikipedia. It's easy enough to adjust the signals. Is the spacing close to accurate? And all the signals I used are ST signals; any other signals I should be aware of?

Interesting that the switches are hand-thrown, I thought they'd be automatic but I guess they don't use those switches often enough to warrant an expensive point motor.

Scott, PM me your AIM or Skype IM name and I'll give you the track/signal information for the 42 St Shuttle. I don't want to post it here because---well, yeah, you already know.

Hey ace could you also send me your track/signal info if its ok I'd like to see where signals go and stuff since I know nothing about them and how they work?

You'll have to be more specific, Strain. Do you want the same signal info I have for the 42 St Shuttle? If so, I guess I can publicly post it. If you're looking for how all the signals and things work, look at the link below. It has everything you'll ever need to know about NYCTA Signalling. It's a confusing read the first several times through, but read it over and over (not obsessively, lol), and eventually you'll get the hang of it. It's where I got my start--the section about timing signals (esp 2-shot GT's) will need some slow careful reading several times over--that and the ST signalling was the hardest part for me to grasp.

Signal/Track Diagram of the IRT 42 St Shuttle line with added comments made by me. You'll have to right-click and save, and view/zoom on your own computer for clarity. This is as big as the diagram pages are normally.

Enjoy! This is a rarity that I'd post something like this, so NO requests for any other diagrams.

Looks good but how come no one is passenger enabling their stations? it just 2 seconds extra and the route can actually have sessions
