Now what? CM2 crashes while re-building

After the first crashes of the CM2 database I was very happy to see that it has the ability to repair itself. Until yesterday this worked flawlessley. During the commiting stage of the installing of some items from the DLS CM2 crashed and now it continues to crash when re-building the database.

Is my conclusion that TS2009 is now FUBAR and that the only way to "repair" it is by a complete re-install, the correct one? That would be horrible.

There are a number of assets on the DLS which will crash CMP2. Somehow these have passed all the upload checks but seem to be corrupt on the DLS.
These are in the posts of 1st , 8th and 12 May.
I have had to use Ctrl Alt Del to end CMP2. On restart CMP2 goes into database check routine. If you cancel this for the time being the download window becomes active with the previously selected assets for download. Make sure you click on the clear button quickly before you download the corrupted asset again and keep going round in a loop.

In my case CMP2 has been able to download the major proportion of the assets without crashing again. I make sure I skip the ones I know that cause problems. At the end of the download session I exit CMP2 to save the recently downloaded items and then reopen CMP2 and allow the database check routine.

The deep database check took over 24 hours on one occasion :(

I had an issue where CMP was crashing when I had a PC lockup and had to do a DB rebuild, I found that until I canceled all downloading files that were still in CMP2 then the DB rebuild worked perfectly. But before I tried that as I didnt realise I was still downloading some files, it kept crashing constantly where I actually had too hard boot my PC.

If your having that issue and have files still trying to Dload in CMP2, cancel the rebuild, remove all the files and start the rebuild again, it worked for me.

Was my first hiccup with TS09.

Cheers

I see. Well, I was indeed downloading one of the few TS2009 specific items (mogul) when it happened. I have now cancelled the download.

Note to Auran: make CM2 STOP downloading while repairing the database!!!

After I quit the download and emptied the download helper window ... poof! ... database repaired.

It is this type of ridiculous bugs that makes people stick to previous versions and pretty soon I will be one of them.
