Northern Arizona Route

Gordon

I wouldn't like to say you're the king of the desert because that would mean Joe (Socalwb909) must be queen of the desert, which sounds a bit embarrassing. Fact is, you're both geniuses, we've seen the screenies to prove it.

How long will it be (in build time or route miles) before we see another town? The last one was brilliant, I'm looking forward to the next stop. I'm reasonably booked up with buildings for Derrick Ricketts' layout and things I promised other people, but if there is one special building or landmark you think I could make for the next town, let me know. I'd need a reasonable set of photos to work with, that's the only hurdle.

Thanks for the comment kamran but the only magic trick I know is making my money disappear. I’m actually quite skilled at that trick.

I started this route out of several baseboards I did for a desert theme screenshot of the week contest last winter. This is the original mesa I created for that shot. Today I decided to start some fixing up of some of the work I did early on this route. I want to keep the earlier work consistent with the content and techniques I’m using now.

My goodness that looks like a standard lashup out of Mobest, 0.0

@Dermmy, Thanks Andy, most of the original textures remained with a little tweak here and there. It was really about replacing vegetation with what I’m using now. Back then I was throwing every green shrubby thing I could find at it. Now I have some of groups of desert vegetation that I’m happy with. So much of it comes down to the right tone of green for desert vegetation.

@socalwb909, thanks Joe, ‘looking forwards to some new shots of your route soon.

@Euphod, I don’t know if it was work ethic. I was just too tired from a long week to work on any new parts of the route. That mountain was first desert thing I created in Trainz. Now it’s new and improved just a little bit.

@Dinorius_Redundicus, thanks for the compliment, no titles for me. It’s just me assembling a lot of great content to form a virtual impression of Northern Arizona. Thank you for your offer to create some buildings. I am getting very close to working on Flagstaff Arizona. Flagstaff will be the largest city on my route. There are some very unique stations on my route that were built by the Santa Fe, The Flagstaff and Winslow stations would be great. The Winslow station is connected to a former Harvey house, which is now a resort. I’ll try and find as much as I can as far as photos and dimensions. The Flagstaff station is a structure that I’ve always hoped to include on this route.

@SouthwestinAZ1, I thought Joe’s faded warbonnet looked great in that shot. Every now and then I like to mix up the lashups in my shots to include former ATSF. What I’m really waiting for are the JR Dash 9’s.

Sorry, uh sorry, uh I forgot, uh and Euphod did it.

I would recommend never following my example.
Truth be told I don't usually quote pictures, but when I responded to this thread I did so from a network that won't display pictures, as I had seen the picture earlier from a network that does. I THOUGHT I had edited out the screen when I responded, but without being able to actually see the code, apparently not!
My heartfelt apologies to all those that have been offended by my humble error; perfection is still beyond my grasp.

I have edited the post I made earlier, and hopefully this will be seen as redemption for my careless actions, and those whom I have offended will deign to grant me forgiveness...
