Northern Arizona Route

@Scott, I didn’t listen to my own advice. I’m still adding little details.

@montanawestern, Thanks, keep working on your Idaho route. It’s looking very good. I’m a big fan of NP, GN and BNSF in the Northwest.

One last shot for the yard… switcher that is.

Incredible, absolutely incredible. The whole atmosphere is just outstanding. I must say, the best work I have ever seen.

Hi, thanks man I will keep working on it, your attention to detail is amazing. Do you have any recommendations for my route. I have no idea what to add at summit, I have a depot and a small yard but I don't know if I should add lumber loading tracks at summit or keep it the same.
MTW:cool:

Thank you very much maverickmc, anything I put together on this route is only possible because of all the great content available. I really love the new SW 1500 switcher by JR. I don’t whether the real Winslow yard has one but my yard does!
If anyone ask me what I did Saturday afternoon and I say, “yard work”, They really haven’t a clue.

Thanks MTW, I have much more info on GN as far as books, maps etc. it seems to me that after the BN merger ownership of some of the former NP trackage went back and forth for a while. Could you could give me more route info. All I know is that you mentioned Moscow Idaho. Does your route go into eastern Washington? So far what you’ve posted looks very good for terrain of that part of the country.

well when I get to extending the route from seldom it will reach as far as Elie, WA (a freelanced town) which is in eastern Washington. By the way I know a lot about NP & SP&S anyone know a lot about Frisco and CB&Q (BN railroads:hehe:)? The line connects with the MRL at Moscow. Then heads over what I think to be a 9 or 10 mile pass and glides down into seldom. The line is freelanced but is based on the WI&M and NP and GN lines in Idaho.
MTW;)

These are some shots of the Amtrak Southwest Chief at Winslow. The Superliner cars are by PerRock and the baggage car is by maverickmc. I don’t remember who did the P42s, I’ve had those for a while. I think they all look great. It’s good to finally get some modern Amtrak on this route.

I have to admit that I'm not an Amtrak fan, and feel that most screenshots I have seen with Amtrak equipment present don't look "right" somehow. I don't know if it's your settings, or your computer, or your expertise, but it looks every bit as "right" as the freight equipment in your shot.

Well done again.

Looks so funny to see Flagstaff but not flagstaff :/ I really need to learn how to model so that I can get an actual Flagstaff amtrak station building for you.

That’s actually Winslow, not Flagstaff. The way I depicted the Winslow station and former Harvey house was the best I could do for now. It would be great to have the proper buildings, as each one is unique. As far as the Flagstaff station I would love to have that when I get to working on Flagstaff. The Flagstaff station so unique I can’t see using something else in its place.

Is that winslow? some of the shots look more like flag than winslow. my bad then.

@montanawestern Thanks. Keep up the good work on your route.

@Andy, Thanks

@Euphod, Thanks, I don’t know how much Amtrak I’ll be doing. I just wanted to try a few shots in Winslow er, um Flagstaff or where ever. Apparently I don’t know jack’ about Arizona.

@maverickmc, thanks, those p42s look good. I just need to find out what the solution is for the build # issue I’m having.

Well you know more of arizona for sure than me, I for sure DONT KNOW SQUAT about Arizona:hehe:.
MTW;)

I sent 8 Winslow screen shots to a friend who is familiar with Winslow but knows not of Trainz. His complaint was lack of detail by the artist. He thought they were paintings.

:D;)

There are numerous highly talented people who are creating fantastic routes and scenes that look so real, that they look like watercolor artworks (you know who you are) Yea !

I live in northern AZ and have been to Winslow several times, you did an awesome job. Your rendering of the power plant in Joseph City is pretty good too. That plant is called Cholla Power plant by the way. They used to let people water ski on the cooling lakes but that got shut down several years ago.

I hope you continue eastward as your right on the edge of another interesting point on the line. In the town of Holbrook there is a yard for a shortline called the Apache railroad. This shortline goes south too Snowflake and services a paper mill. A unique thing about them is that they use old Alco power exclusively. If you go to railpictures.net you kind find several pictures on the Apache railroad.

Just a little further east of Holbrook the line goes through the Petrified National Forest. That would be a cool addition to your route. Just texture it the same way as the rest but in spots your going to add alot of greys, purples, and pinks to the textures. Then you'll need a content creator (I would be happy to do it) to make some petrified logs that lay on the ground. That would be the icing on the cake.

Just east outside of the park theres a 'y' that heads off to the south. This goes to another power plant, Tuscon Electric Power Plant. BNSF services them also and do it via the yard you already modeled in Joe City.

So anything you want to know about the area feel free to ask.

Hal
