Northeast Corridor Newport News, VA to Boston-South Station, MA (1024x 768 pixels)

Hi Davis, I suggest you kitbash. I was able to make Altoona station with some splines.

As you can see mine isn't finished, the roof and floor is missing but if you have Toronto Lakeshore West downloaded you can see the finished result

Or, you could just use the TWM Airport Station Bridge, which is on the DLS

Sure, it's not as good, but it would do

I punched in those eact keywords and nothing came up. If you have a kuid that would be great. That way I could look at it and see if it suffices. I wil also keep the kitbashing technique in the back of my head too. Thanks Michael.

It isn't exactly the title, it's just the keywords, and it won't appear if you put all of those together like that. Just type in TWM in the DLS, it should appear.

This is going to be like, the best route ever created! You're going to go down in history as the best trainz route builder ever!

I wouldn't go that far:p But if all goes as planned it will be a good route. Of course he will have a little help from some others now... The next obstacle is to try and backdate it so you don't have to buy 09 to even have a chance:D

Im not so good with that kind of stuff, so someone will have to assist me. Believe me with all the work I put into this I dont want it to be exclusive to TS2009 only. Definatly 06, theres a chance classics but I doubt it considering all of its dependencies. And maybe 04. It depends if someone wants to help me do all of that.

Some things I will need...

Hey guys, I'm not going to get to work on this again til Saturday but until then I would like to adress some content issues. I already have the BWI walkway covered thanks to Isaac and Micheal. BTW I think I am going to use the TWM item Isaac mentioned but since that doesn't include staircases, I will go the route Michael wne twith the stairs using the concrete walls, which will look good.

So a couple things I would like to adress are the following.

1. The Metro System (WMATA) crosses roads and the tracks many times and it not only uses standard "pillar" style supports but also uses big supports that span over areas where a pillar cannot be placed. As you have seen in my recent pics I have used a rusty version which in many ways does not reflect the prototype. So I was wonderinjg if anyone could point me in the right direction, a spline would be good but if all anyone can find is a static support thats fine too. An example of this (for clarity) is showsn below. I took this shot on Multimap.com just southeast of the big NS/CSX interlocking south of Alexandria, VA, this is a prime example:

ConcreteSupports2.jpg

2. I am going to kitbash the BWI Rail Satin but Ill definatly need the logo that is placed on the side of the staircase. As seen here:
BWIRailStation.jpg

Since I am just slapping it on the side of the staircase it only needs to be 2D. I looked around and none are available. What I was thinking was that you can take a Amtrak logo off google images, cut it off the white background and then put it into Trainz. I myself dont know how to this but if I did I would do it.:hehe: I was thinking something like this:
amtrak2.gif

Heres another shot of what Im talking about:

3. And finally the Lorton Auto Train Terminal Building, this will really complete it because I already have the ramps and platforms good to go. Here it is:
AMTLORTON-LORTONVA-DEC31-00-145153-32.jpg

That would be hard to make so if someone could assist me in kitbashing it or could give some insight on a good stand-in that would be great.

This stuff can be found at any time, no rush. Ill just skip it and move on until I get something suitable and then Ill go back and add it in.

Thanks for your cooperation.

I'll Try the Sign

Even though I only have some experience with GMax, I can try to make a sign with that Amtrak logo on it for you. It'll be good practice for me. :D Then I'll release it to the DLS.

Cool thanks, that would be a cool starter project. The logo on the real station is the exact same as the picture I posted. Note that when you look up the logo you may see the Black Letters "Amtrak" above or below the actual logo but the one on the BWI station is the exact same as the pic I posted with the Amtrak writing on the left.

Thanks again

No problem, I'll use that exact logo you posted when I create the mesh. I will probably create a flat square and put the logo on it, and then all you have to do is adjust the height and move it to the right place so it looks like its part of the building.

Oh no...please don't use that one; if you make it any bigger it'll become distorted. Here I use this one alot.

It's vectorized so you don't loose quality when you "play" with it.

That'll work fine too. I'm sure Davis won't mind.:p I have just created the mesh, so I'll retexturize the sign and try to get it into Trainz tomorrow. CCP is throwing a big hissy fit tonight and its driving me nuts.

EDIT-I just put the textures on and I took a screenshot of the sign in GMax to show what it looks like so far, but I can't find where on my computer the screen is located, can anybody help please?

I dunno. What I do is I open paint, take the pic and then hit "control" and the v buttons and it pops into paint where you can save it. Hit save as and where it says BMP change that to JPEG. If you need clarification on a specifc step please let me know.

Davis

Thanks Davis. Here's what the sign looks like (note the colors may look a little distorted, but thats not what it really looks like):

amtrak_building_sign.jpg

The dimensions are as follows:
Length: 1.5 meters
Width: 0.01 meters
Height: 1.5 meters

Please let me know if you want these dimensions adjusted, or if you want the color changed at all. I would prefer exporting this to Trainz only once, due to the tough times I seem to be having with CCP.
