NKP S-2 Update Problem

Hi all,
Just recently received the update for the nk s-2 and now the engines tenders and caboose have vanished....I have tried the 'redownload all purchases' and all I get is that it was a success..I have also done a Extended Data base Repair...No luck..In CMP all the assets are open for edit but I cannot do anything with them anyway...The boxcar is still there but I dont think anything was updated on it..

tried that

If the assets are open for edit, right-click then, select Edit, then select Revert.

Shane

Did all that .no longer open for edit but they still will not appear in railyard on surveyor ..Their names etc appear in railyard but just a empty space when selected..No apparent errors or missing dependancies in cmp..Thanks for your suggestion though.at least it did something..

What error did you get when you tried to do so (if you've attempted to commit them)?

Shane

This is what happens when DRM is implemented Shane. The asset is "locked" by N3V, it can not be "commited" by the user, and in actuality, even revert to original does nothing but change the status in CMP, no change was actually made to the content, or the "update" would have been rolled-back and everything would have reappeared.

The ONLY fix is to uninstall the assets, then reinstall.

I get message "not authorised to commit changes to asset kuid xxxx" I tried to re download the assets from Simulator Central but it seems the "Nickel Plate" down load appears in "My Orders" but not in "My Downloads" for some reason...I have of course paid for it and have used it numerous times before the update stuffed it all up...Have posted a query in cust support at Simulator Central and am awaiting for a reply ...Thanks for help from you all...

You are supposed to download it from within the game using the Get Content > paid > Redownload all purchases, cancel the ones that you do not need and just allow the NKP to redownload.

Tried that. All I get is a message saying "success. All purchased content should now be available for use"...I get nothing about being able to select what to re-download..Have an issue with Simulator Central at the moment...See my previous post..I think maybe perhaps possibly all that is needed is for it to be committed but cant do that at the moment..Everything was rosy until the update downloaded. All I want is to get back in service what I paid for...I have been known to be a bit thick so the solution is probably staring me in the ugly face and I cant see it.......It seems that all of the Nickel Plate set is all here in my TS 2012 with no indication of errors or missing dependencies but the engines and caboose just wont appear in person..It seem similar to the result you get when there are missing dependencies or assets not being committed...

in reply to KingConrail76s suggestion about uninstalling and then reinstalling the assets I cannot even uninstall them as cmp wont let me as they are seen as built in...

Meanwhile try this? before starting CM delete anything in the editing folder then locate your Userdata\packages folder check for the folder or folders that contain the NKP stuff and move them somewhere, run a QDR which should get rid of the builtin issue then try redownload all purchases again. That I think should work, as I removed all my DLC from there in one of my copies of TS12 to get a copy free of DLC stuff and the items are now all available for download again in that copy of Trainz, just checked.

I also did the reverse on another copy on my backup PC and ran a QDR which saved downloading it all again.

Thank You clam1952,
I did what you suggested and lo and behold...It's all working again..Thank-you...I would send you a couple of jars of Vegemite but you might take offence as a lot of people think it's revolting stuff including a fair share of us Aussies.I rather like it though and my dogs love it on their toast for breakfast...
So thanks again for your help , Much appreciated....

Also thanks to anyone else who gave suggestions....

Any of the brainz know how I might fix this trainz problem? I'd greatly appreciate it.

It shows two items are open for edit. I have HF4 installed, and now I don't know what is going on here. I tried revert, it won't commit. I tried to commit, it says "Error: Not authorised to commit changes to asset <kuid2:276266:100121:2>"

This is silly. I tried to redownload purchases in game, that isn't working. What can I do to manually remove this, and redownload? Anything? Ideas?

Try closing Content Manager, use Explorer and delete the assets folders from the editing folder, then restart CM, As they are built in they should just be listed as normal. Editing doesn't actually edit the builtin, it just copies the contents to the editing folder.
If they don't reappear as normal, then the DLC lives in the packages folder, you could move the NKP folder whatever it's called somewhere, run a QDR, that confirms it no longer exists and then it should be re-downloadable from in game. That worked for someone with a messed up download.

I'll try the NKP folder trick, already ran QDR and EDR. Where would I look for the NKP folder? Or packages folder?

Packages folder is in TS12\UserData\Packages folder name for NTK could be some random name, however you should get a clue by just opening the folders and seeing what's in there, there is a config listing all the kuid's used, should be able to track it from one of them.

Okay, got that removed, but it appears to not download again. Am I missing something else?

Did you happen to turn off the auto-download feature? If so, you will need to go into Get New Content then use the Redownload all Purchases button if you want to redownload the content.

How do I turn back on the auto-download, or check for it? I tried that manual redownload purchases thing.

Well, I rechecked it, I can post my invoice/purchase if need be for proof.
