New Trainz Series On Youtube

@sawyer811: Remember, Mike said that since that was the future, none of it has happened yet.
@tycoonk4:Everyone has their own opinion, and I respect that, but where is this explanation that you speak of? Really I'd like to hear it so I can improve the series in the future.

This may make you scream, and want to revamp the series.

Will there only be a Few main characters and most engines seen on cam extras?

Will the locomotives be crewed and will some crews be named and have a
staring roll and non-main characters crews be as important?

Will the plots be based on real events?

Will you do something silly like make them do human things, like make them have kids,be in court, etc?

Will the railroad simulate real railroads and follow all FRA regulations, aka no Thomas style railway running?

Are the characters well developed?

Are you willing to replicate real-style accidents were locomotives get actually broken on the outside and sometimes don't get repairs for a while ,and also sometimes get killed?

Are you willing to drop multi-colored engines for a standardized RR livery with a few out of livery locos only?

Are you willing to simulate interchange with other lines?

Will you have a multi-person voice cast?

And also no different-power format arguments what so ever.
It really makes no sense and seams like a silly plot element for interest.(And its Failing)

Its too slow for my taste and it tastes like stale chips.

And please start studying Hollywood.

wow tycoon...bit harsh.

Personally, I like it. I'm still pulling for a USRA 2-10-2 on the set...though it's totally up to you:D (I hope that didn't come off as pushy...cause that wasn't how it was meant) I like the plot, i like the storylines, and that blasted 0-4-0 makes me laugh every time. He reminds me of a friend i have.

Just curious, have you figured out how the engines survive dieselization yet? Maybe a kind a Talyllyn Railway kind of thing? (i think i spelled that name right).

and yes, i can sleep well tonight knowing there's a plot afoot to rescue the geep...in the future:cool:

@sawyer811: The story behind their survival is that they were all purchased second hand by the Manager (who seems to live in that SP coach). So in a way you are right about how they survived. As for characters, I'm liking the idea of new characters more and more. I'm thinking Season 3 (starting episode 13) will have some new engines.
@tycoonk4: As said before, everyone has an opinion, and I respect that. Keep in mind that I am running with very limited resources (dying Windows XP, TRS2004, and Windows Movie Maker). As for the way the plots are, that's just my directing style. Every series I've seen before has had their own style, and just like them, some will like it and some won't. I appreciate your ideas, and some will help to improve the series, but again, that's just the way I do it. And also, I don't think there will ever be a standard paint scheme, just because I like all kinds of different liveries. (Personally, I'm even a fan of the not so realistic blue tint on Jerry).

Sorry to ask the "Where'd ya 'git thot?" question, but I'm curious where you obtained geep from. Although he is CSX, I like how the marker lights were covered in plates.

Well, I have to say I like the idea of a internet-based railway series and have debated creating one many many times. With all these constructive critisisms (which is what I feel can help improve a show) I would suggest talking to people who've managed to make it work.

I find that Trainz would be the easiest to make, as it seems to be the most user-friendly programme compared to MSTS and Railworks 2. I know people you have made series' in the other 2 Rail-based games or 'simulators'. I would suggest looking at the works of 'gyjg6564167' with his 'The Full Bucketniers' sereis in MSTS or 'Rhysicus' series 'Over the Hills' in Rail Sim and Railworks, both of who have different angles on what makes a rail-based web series good, so I'd suggest watching the series' in order, to see how they improve them, the later of which released an OTH movie which, if watched from start to finish goes for a proper feature-length time of about 1.5 hours. It's just a matter of how you structure your story. Work with other writers, explore new camera angles and technics, anything to improve the performance of a series, regardless of the tools you are limited to.

I say that you should incorporate peoples comments in an effort to improve it, because, hey, we all have to start somewhere. Also, to keep it interesting, try to keep it real, don't make it all 'Thomas and the Magic Railroad' crap which in my mind ruined the fasination of the fact that the Island of Sodor could exist as a real place. Tycoon4 has some good points, it has to really be a journey that people can relate to, and its a matter of developing the skills you use to create it. It's not something you have to do, it's something you want to do so it pays to think ahead.

I'm very happy to help out with this, being a writer as I have studied film theory and so maybe some imput from those with expereince can help.

Anyway, theres the essay I didn't expect to write, but should give you some 'Food for Thought'

Cheers
Timo

Too funny.

I must say that I love your show. The story is decent, but it's really the jokes about modern railroading that really gets me. And sure, there are things that you can do to improve on it, like all that has been said recently. If I can add to those suggestions: it might be beneficial to buy the full virsion of fraps so that you can get the web adress off the top of your screen. Also, I'd watch to make sure that the microphone doesn't pick up clicking. That was one thing that I really noticed in that last episode.

Ontherwise, well done sir. Well done. Can't wait to see more.

Probably just you:D the GEVO's seemed a lot more sophisticated to me, the E's where just saying "You shut up" over and over:hehe: :o
