new to trainz, have a few questions...

Remember guys... when you quote a post with pics, convert the pics to links, saves somebodyelse's bandwidth!!

regards

Harry

In case you don't know how to do that. Just click on the Switch Editor Mode Icon in the upper right hand corner of the quote box.

Edit Forget what I said I just tried that and it still put the pictures up, I had do delete the links to keep the pictures from showing.
Maybe Harry will be along soon to tell us how to do it.

There are a number of interesting animated freight cars in Trainz.

The JSA steel coil wagon is on the Download Station, kuid 92263:16102

The cover opens to load and unload:

The cover closes for transit.

The red out-of-gauge car is also animated.

Normally the load bearing arms are closed, but when loading the arms first move outwards:

The steel plate loads:

The bearers rotate:

And for transit the steel plate is now within gauge:

Again, on the Download Station, kuid 114867:1050

Both of these cars are used in a session of mine for YardSwitchingCo. Look for "YSC 1a SteelAnime", kuid 69871:12057, or this thumbnail:

In the above quotation, I have changed the mode, removed all the tags and then posted... hopefully, it should come out like this...

Thanks Harry I'll try that next time

Edit: Maybe Harry's post should be made a sticky, since there are a lot of trainzers that double and triple quote pictures wasting a lot of band width and space on threads, because they don't know how to do this.

On the subject of "Roadrail Units" theres a nice Road/Rail engineering work truck called the CSX MOW Crane Truck which looks totally at home on a UK railway. You can drive it on the road by installing Invisible Track of course.Type CSX MOW into the DLS and you"ll find about five varieties but note that only one (the yellow one) is driveable.
