When you click on download at the DLS "down load station" Trainz will open automatically and install to the correct folder.
Wellllll - be careful. The first time I did this I was downloading a few individual assets and everything worked fine. The second time I was downloading a route, and CMP bombed out after it was opened from the DLS. But, if you did not know what you were looking at among various icons and windows, CMP did not tell you it had bombed. After recovery and asking some questions on a thread, learned I had to open CMP first, then search the DLS using CMP before downloading.
Maybe the start-in-DLS approach is one of these things that works some of the time.
Philskene has a route called Austral Bay in several versions (and several other routes) on the DLS (search on that author ID to see them all). He also has provided a large number of sessions for the route, some of which provide high-quality container well cars, trailers on flat cars, auto carriers, and so on. If you download them, you may have some of what you are looking for and have a nice map besides. The map is a very good one, but one of the dependencies has been removed from the DLS by its author (not Phil). In response to an email message direct to him, Phil will tell you where to find it (actually "them" - the coronas for the semaphore signals that he uses). It'll work without the coronas, but the signals are much enhanced if you have them.
In my earlier post, I forgot to mention that CMP stores all installed (committed) assets in the file TRS2006\Local. Its all coded and not directly readable, but this is the one file that you need to keep backed up if you are installing assets. Or if you are making any assets like routes and sessions because that is where they are stored when you save anything in Surveyor.

PS - maybe somebody can tell me how to get that quote in a window that the preceding posts contained. I used the Quote button, and got the above.
