New Route - BNSF Clovis Sub West

I removed the "shell" kuid from the config file and the session loaded but if I click on one of the gp 40-2's I get an error message saying shell not found in the kuid list. Do you have any suggestions on how to solve this problem? Thanks

If you're referring to the shell as the interior then thats where the problem is. Give me a kuid number of the geep and I will look at mine and see what interior it is suppose to have.

I reload all the gp40-2's and finals and this time I got shells with lots of errors. I corrected all of them except the "generic shell" and I will not try that. Thanks again.

Ran the session and it worked fine. nice route and fun to manage the trains.

...The only one I was having a problem with was Cafe in the CSX C40-8 yn2 dirty West bound out of Albuquerque, he didn't like the route he was assigned ...

Thanks for the comments guys :)

On that Cafe problem the quick fix is: As soon as you get the 'radio' message that he is stuck, throw junction Belen13C to give him a yellow sig and Belen14 to give him a green. I have no idea why he stalls - trains running later in the session with identical instructions find the route without issue, but Cafe will sit all day waiting if you don't throw 13C for him....

One of the things I like about the session is the completely different results you get playing around with 'wait' commands...

Andy :)

I got to run the session twice before I left to visit grandkids and both times I got him moving that way. It seemed as it he headed off to the left instead of the mainline and I never got to finish that one to see if he wound up in the right place. I couldn't figure why the train at the filling station was holding him up. I will try it again when I get back and see what he does. What is the ratio of trains going east versus west over larger time span? Thanks again for a nice layout.

The Tricks of The Trade...

8) Dermmy, how did you add content, that causes so many problems?

Never mind the problems I'm having(all the scenery items, track, textures, crossings, people peeing behind the buildings, so forth, are there)...

Please list any changes you made to rolling stock & content, you used to make the Sessions!

Don't get me wrong, I so love the route, however the trainz listed in the sessions, do not appear.

And, to help you feel better, I use your Kentucky Route, as an alternative!

@ MrD - over the long haul the proportion of trains generated Eastbound: Westbound is about even. A LOT depends though on how often you save/quit/load-saved-session. Every time you load a saved game the portal clocks are re-set to zero, so nothing new is generated for 30 minutes.

@ Backyard - I install all rolling stock into TRS04 and run TrainzObjectz to fix errors before copying the corrected asset into 06. I ignore errors reported by CMP. It is more than possible that content I have installed this way gives problems if installed directly into TRS06. It is no big thing to swap out assets and release a new session if there are any particular items of content giving people grief. Let me know....

Andy :)

The Big Snafuu....

8) Thanks Dermmy, for the quick reply!

I note the content changes in TrainzObjects, and acknowledge as such...

Probably, most of the content is held up in CMP, and clearing this, will provide the sessions with the missing items.

I just needed to know your procedure. By editing in TO, you imported corrected content into CMP, and ignore all the errors reported...got it!

It is complicated, but in no way impossible.

Thanks Dermmy!

Just a question for Andy or anybody who knows about railways in US. Does all 2 mainline operation happen in a similar manner as is shown/designed in Clovis sub session..

Is there any website which documents prototypical operations in US.

Chirag

Have been enjoying session. Had a runaway train cause a derailment and had trouble getting the spare locos running. I will assign them a driver incase that happens again. Where did he come from anyway?

Would like to explore the possibility of adding industries to get some loading and unloading going on if that is not a problem. This will be for my own use and not something to upload.

@ Chirag - historically most USA railroads observed right-hand running on double tracks. Modern high-speed operation favours bi-directional on both tracks on some routes.

@ Mr D: Glad you got things sorted out. Whether to have industries or not was discussed among some of the beta group and the consensus was that this is not really a 'drop-a-boxcar' type route. There were ProtoLars industry tracks at all likely spots at one stage during testing. If you wish to resurrect them for your own use go for it!

Hi Demmy
Downloaded the route and session yesterday along with the rolling stock. No problem with route. Sesion gives one item missing.

KUID 2:137823:318:1

There is also a missing hornsound on the BNSF SD40-2 & BNSF SD40-2B.

KUID 261222:1053

I guess I could change out the horn but would rather not. Ran the session yesterday but didn't have allthe engines needed so nothing came out of the portals. Very beautiful route and well made.

Thanks for the reply. I had downloaded the boxcar but must have missed it when opening the cdp's. There was quite a few of them!

I ran the session for about 2hr yesterday but I'm having trouble getting trains to come out the portals. Going to play it again today see if I get better results.

Thanks again;

Excelent route Dermmy, looks great especially if you use trainz tuner to increase the view distance for terrain so you can see the mountains from far away :D

OOPS

Please re-download the custom Clovis Billboard from Checkrail.com - click here to do so.

I forgot to change the image in the 'night' view, so round about 6.30pm the sign reverts to 'McCall Intermodal', it's previous manifestation for McCall Yard. The new billboard is 'kuid2' so will automatically obsolete the original in TRS04 and TRS06 (and I assume in later versions also).

Slightly Off -Topic, I just got the session to run for 12 hours plus (took several days) without intervention, still going......

Andy :)

Thanks for the sign fix Dermmy.
I have a general question concerning AI's and since your route uses a lot of them I thought you or somebody else reading this might have an answer.
When after running the session for several hours, now this doesn't happen early on, and an AI comes to an impasse and needs Assistance I tell the loco to stop so that I can control it. But the AI refuses to give up control. Derail doesn't work at this stage either. It appears that this AI is locked up. I have used one little trick and that is I've grabbed another train close by and used that one to shove the locked up AI/AI's on down to the next exit portal. Or I have to start the session over to get out of it. Do you are anybody else know of a way to free the AI up so that the session can be continued normally.

Sounds like the train in question has 'slid' past a red signal - the give-away is an unchanging speed of 1mph. When this happens it is not possible to issue any commands to the train. I have had this happen a couple of times, always with the SP auto rack train.

AFAIK the only fixes are to 'grab' the train with another loco - as you have done, or switch junctions so that the train faces a dead-end. At the dead end the message 'Emergency braking complete, re-commencing schedule in 10 seconds' comes up and at that stage new orders can be issued to recover the situation.

I will upload a revised session with a shorter auto rack train in a couple of days.

OT - Away for two or three days (weather permitting) - off camping in the bush :)

Camp out!..........

8) Oh Derm, I wish I could camp out....it's 24° here in Tennessee, bring your Tree Stand Boots!

I have encountered this 1mph deal(Cumberland to Connellsville, lately), so long as no one is following, it's not a big deal, I have to follow-up on why...

Thanks Dermmy for the quick reply. Please don't worry about the long autorack train, I like long trains and thats not the problem, this situation can and does occur with any of the trains that come to an impasse/Mexican stand off. And it can happen on any route not just yours. It's no fault of yours, I just was wondering if any body knew of fix for it is all. I think it may be a memory issue even though I have 2GB, since it only happens after a long session like more than 2-3 hours. I might mention too that while this is happening the rest of the trains are performing just fine. So it appears that the two trains involved have locked horns so to speak in a heated argument and nobody can break them apart.:hehe: Am still enjoying your route immensely.

Anyway enjoy your camping trip and be safe. Watch out for the wallabies.
