Hello,

I just ordered a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop and was wondering if I could get some constructive critisisim of how well it may work with Trainz 2006.

Here are the specs of it:

Inspiron 1525, Intel Core 2 Duo T6400, 2.0GHz, 800Mhz, 2M L2 Cache

3GB, DDR2 SDRAM, 2 DIMM for Inspiron 15

15.4 inch Wide Screen WXGA LCDTrueLife for Inspiron 1525

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100

320G 5400RPM SAMSUNG Hard Drive

Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 Home Basic Edition, English

Thanks in advance:)

I'd say it would run trainz okay, but not brilliantly. Especially as it has an Intel graphics chip which will use some of your 3GB of RAM.

And it has Vista home basic.

apologies for bumping an old (maybe) topic, but Trainz 2006 runs perfect on my Samsung NC10 netbook.

That has a 1.6Ghz Intel Atom CPU, 2Gb RAM, 128Mb graphics (64Mb dedicated and 64Mb shared). Trainz runs fine at the native 1024x600 resolution as well.

Having said that, I might have the worst system to run Trainz on though, but it works...might be inspired when I'm on a train journey in reality to make a trainz map in virtual :hehe:

Try 2009. I have an Asus eeePC 901 which is simliar (except the VRAM isn't listed as its SMA - don't listen to what Windows says) and it crashes, but I am using Vista Ultimate and the latest intel drivers I can find. Its also smaller than the NC10, ligher and I get 7 hours battery life :).

I even shoehorned a 120GB HD and may shoehorn more.

If you want a decent system to run Trainz you will want a min. of 512MB dedicated or more from your video card and 4Gb or more of RAM also. Look to spend $1,500.00 or more for a good computer.
:)
