I will be uploading some of the aircraft as static models, there will be no changes to the mapping, and they will be height adjustable. Therefore any reskins for the animated versions should be able to be applied directly to the static models. There are no night lights, animations, shadows or effects, so simple models to reskin.

I have uploaded for approval three FA18s in Swiss colours and the Qantas A380. I may not upload static versions of all variations of a type, you should be able to reskin the base model with the other released textures, if you keep the texture names the same as in the base model. I will see how it goes, there have been quite a few aircraft models, so a lot of work if I did static versions of all released liveries.

NZMS, try your Swiss reskin on the static one when available, and let me know the results please.

Thanks Brad, it is based on the static model supplied by Dinorius Redundicus we converted into flyable. This one operates on track three metres above water level. Landing on the ground would be expensive.

I had intended to make a float version, hopefully available tomorrow.

No Jamie, I did not add the roll option to the static models, hadn't thought about it. If you want to bank the aircraft in a static position up in the air, (I only set the height range to plus minus 50 metres, can increase that) it could be useful.

You can edit the existing config to add the tag:

rotate-yz-range -45,45

You can only roll a static model in one direction (the yz plane), fortunately that is laterally for the aircraft. Select the angle, in the above example it is 45 degrees. Make sure there is at least one space after range and before the minus sign.

I will add it to any future static models, thanks.

Let me no of any problems please, some content may not be on DLS as i also use content from some Russian trainz sites.

Gordon :)
Hi Gordon,

I finally got to have a look at your route and session. Had a problem though that the session is looking for the wrong layout so I changed that in the Config file to work.

I liked you layout so you have so far. The dock area is really interesting as is the Airport at Wellington and the Military one. While I am missing a few items which I think some are textures, the progress is very promising.

It was a little confusing with so many Drivers to pick from in the Session, so may be take out some Drivers but leave the trainz/planez/shipz there then someone can play around and test the layout. They can also add more Drivers to set up their own sessions as well in areas they are more interested in.

Overall, it's great to see so far, excellent work for quite a large area to cover.

Nice Iced,

Did you know that plane crashed into a twin tower, and my dad was supposed to fly out on that plane, but his train into chicago was late, lucky, huh??

Keep in mind that United switched paint schemes after 9/11, and the particular plane is N646UA, which is still in service. The aircraft ID of UAL175 was N612UA. Is that what you meant, or were you referring to just a UAL plane that turned out to be UAL175?

Hello Ian & Patricia,
Bonjour, Patrica,

Here is the static Swiss A380 model.
Voici le modèle A380 statique suisse.

It was actually quite easy, I just needed to transfer the .tga files from the non-static model to the static model.

Should have the Swiss A380 (non-static) on the DLS soon.
J'aurais dû l'A380 suisses (non statique) sur le DLS bientôt.:)

Hopefully the translations are adequate! :hehe:

One thing I've gotta admit is a pain in the neck to do with the 767 is the rudder. On most Boeing planes, the area beneath the rudder is just slightly slanted. Same with the 757. However, on the 767, the tail is slanted more than on other Boeing planes, making it a real pain to do the tail. Screenshots for comparison:

On the 747 I was reskinning, the tail was a lot easier to do because the area beneath it is flat, not slanted.

............... and I suppose you want the Harrier to take off vertically (use it on a lift table) and have vectored nozzles, and..... :hehe:

I think it is on the list somewhere, I am finishing the Rega EC145 Eurocopter at the minute.

Iced, the tails can be a little tricky, you need to be able to rotate the textures and scale them to fit on the tail, I did think your United one was a bit cropped in your earlier picture.

The tail textures for my early models used one side of the tail as part of the left fuselage and a separate tail texture for the reverse side. New models will have two separated textures, so the top of the fuselage at the tail will be easier to map.
