New Aircraft

Alphabet

You say that the Mitsubishi Zero is a long way off because it's last in the alphabet, but having said that:
You started with the Tiger Moth
Then moved onto the Mustang or Spitfire
And got round to the Beaufighter
Then Liberator
You've got this whole thing out of order Vulcan!:hehe:

And on that bombshell,
Happy Trainzing!;)
Scott.

Hi all,

Later tonight I hope to put up a selection of screenshots of various aircraft, doing some low-flying around the Murray River. Part of Craig (Seeseeme) & my "Narrandera_Tocumwal" branch line project.
Why the aircraft?; in our project?.
Because it incorporates the largest WWII Southern Hemisphere air base;
McIntyre Field at Tocumwal NSW.

Does anyone have any screenshots &/or videos of Ian's magnificent flying machines???? :o :) Please

Ian,
I'm using Trainz 2006 (2.6) Build 3335, it says there is a scripting error when I place it on the map, so I'm sure its the 109, I just tried it on one baseboard with nothing but built in invisible track, and I'm posting 2 screens of the error message.

Umm this looks like a real problem for TRS2006.

I need to use the GetTrainVelocity() which is causing the error. I need that particular command to eliminate some other errors that occur in later versions, the aircraft messages were interfering with other aircraft.

It is looking for it in the Auran trains.gs script. The bad news is that it is not available in TRS2006 trains.gs script, I was unaware of that. It may have been introduced in Trainz Classics (don't have that installed), but it is available in TS2009.

If I cannot get the script to work without it, I may have to make the models a higher Trainz build.

I will look into it, thanks for the information. In the mean time:

Open the script aircraft33.gs and change the GetTrainVelocity() on lines 26 and 60 to GetVelocity() and save the file.

This will let it run in TRS2006, but there may be other script issues at times, from using this change.

Thanks, I'll start making the changes.

EDIT:What program do I use to change the .gs file?

Right click on the file and Open with Notepad will do the trick. Notepad does not show the line numbers so scroll down till you find the two occurrences.

" Tower, Vulcan B24 requesting clearance to depart runway 3 4 "

" Vulcan B24, cleared runway 3 4 for straightout departure, winds 15 knots at 220, altimeter 100, Have a good day "

" Tower, Vulcan B24 copy, Thank you Wellington have a good one, rolling "

Can't wait for Vulcan's 747 and A380 fleet, Wellington Airport NZ has to short a runway for these but who cares the planes look awesome.

Wellington could only handel the 747SP which was the short version and I don't think Air New Zealand has any left in the fleet, the runway is to short and ends in the ocean at both ends.

just setting up the Sunderland so more shots to come.

Hey, some pictures, good ones nzld. Under AI operation, if you Ctrl right click on the model you can turn the headlights off, which have come on automatically when you start.

I will make some changes to the scripts so they load in TRS2006 without your fiddling scripts. Meantime, a couple of new pics for you, working on a different Tiger Moth, new engine sound Scott, and another surprise I think you will like. I will try to upload two versions tomorrow.

Had to show off your hard work, just re-doing the airfield so i will post a new photo soon.

Nice Tiger Moth love the barrel roll, i'm assume you've programed this as a trigger.

I like the A10, a favourite aircraft and the airport runways look good.

Yes the Tiger Moth is aerobatic now, you can perform a 360 degree roll with the V key or the track trigger 3, and a 360 degree snap roll (pauses at every 90 degrees) using the B key or trigger 2.

For the aircraft with animated landing gear the modelling rolling animation is a little more complicated but possible. The Cessna Caravan 208 does that now, retracting the nose wheel. Two models will be available, the one shown is the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the flying medical service used in country area of Australia. Hope the patients don't fall out.

You need to be careful if you have placed the track trigger to operate different animations on other aircraft or you will be doing ground loops and cartwheels on the tarmac with these aircraft.

ok. Finally.
Some screen-shots:-
B24 bomber & various other aircraft of Ian's.
Doing a low-flying figure-eight circuit around the Murray River; east of Tocumwal & McIntyre Field.
Part of Craig (Seeseeme) I my "Narrandera_Tocumwal Branch Line" project. :)

Start here (Screen 350), & step forwards through to Screen 495.
By stepping through the pics, you can read the associated text.
However if you prefer, you can start at the Screen 350, select "slideshow" in the webShots right-hand toolbox, & view without the text.

Hope this works ok for you.
Please confirm that it does. :)
All/any comments etc most welcome.
More to come later. :D

Our grateful thanks to Mike "Whecsailor" from who's B24s etc, flying models were created by Ian "Vulcan". Together with grateful appreciation to those who assisted in various ways, in achieving a remarkable thrust forward in what can be achieved in Trainz.
Excellent work guys. :)

I'll set up a shot of the A10 landing on a Carrier in wellington Harbor, that will be the first time a US warship has been in a New Zealand harbor for years.

I hope Green Peace doesn't find out :hehe:

Nice work, Ian - it's going to be a full time job keeping my biplane compatible with your new scripts and triggers (let alone finishing if for release!) ;-)

Vulcan, you son of a gun!:D It does barrel rolls now? This I must see....

And thankyou for switching the navigation lights over. Will you have to update all the models to do barrel rolls and such? If so, that's fine. I can barely contain my excitement!!!:hehe:

Oh blow it, I need to go download something....
And on that bombshell, Happy Planezing.;)
Scott.
