The recent A321 upgrades and the Malaysia A380 have not updated automatically to TS12 whereas previous upgrades have - do you know any reason why?

Continued thanks for all your stuff

Paul

Looks like you've got some interesting stuff on there Ish - look forward to it.

Hi Paul,

I will have a look, but I will proceed type by type, otherwise it could be quickly messy.

I dont understand the case of the A321 or the the Malaysia A380, could you be more precise?

Hello Rob --

WOW, just gazed at those screenies -- beautifully done, sir!

BTW -- I have made 50+ new airport items, but they are not ready yet guys, until I complete a whole package! Of course, when these items land on the DLS I will make a note on this thread! --- Everything in the picture I made, except for the spline tarmac which was made by Zatovisualworks, and the grass! -- Since I live on Marsz, the journey does begin on Earth ... From a NASA point of view! :hehe:

Picture: early preliminary set up of the layout!

Rob, and company, have a nice and safe day!!!
Ish

Ish,

Thanks for the compliments. I also did a desert ops series more recently. http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?50753-New-Aircraft/page230

Your airport systems are interesting. There are certainly many things that will be welcome additions. The air bridges could do with a re-think. Vulcan's splines are pretty useful but a more comprehensive modular system would be better. He & I talked a while back about an animated airbridge that comes out to meet the aircraft as being a nice idea. It all got a bit too hard so we went back to building aircraft....

I assume you are aware of both Ian (Vulcan) & Bill's (willem2) work with some of airport assets. You look to have some overlap there.

The taxiway junctions have proven to be a challenge. On the same page as the desert ops there's a tutorial of sorts to explain how to build realistic taxiway junctions using the system Ian & I developed. Unfortunately the mode of operation for airport taxiways is quite different to railway junctions, so Trainz doesn't really cater for it. Have a look and see what you think. Maybe extend the system or come up with something completely different. What Vulcan & I have come up with is a compromise but we haven't been able to come up with a better solution. What would be good is if your taxiway systems can either link to the Vulcan taxiway system (re: widths and textures) or have a transition asset to allow the two to connect without it looking too odd.

Cheers

Rob

Pascal - there's no rush, I've done a full list for you to choose which to do and when. I'm finding that I can't do anything meaningful with T:ANE anyway until there is a patch - very disappointing so far.
To try and clarify - what I've found is that recent upgraded assets carrying the same base kuid # as the original have not automatically updated to TS12 - as far as I know I have not changed any settings, I still have the box "Automatically download DLC updates" ticked. Just wondered if there is a reason, otherwise will manually replace the updated assets.

Rob/Ish - the major problem with my Heathrow map has been the signalling - taxiway junctions / push backs from gates / two-way operation and the number of AI drivers in a small area of track. It has become an obsessive determination to make it work throughout the entire day. I raised the question of an animated airbirdge long time ago and there are obvious challenges with that. Something simpler - do I see the yellow taxiway marking line have a black edging? That would be good.

Paul

Forgot the thrust of my comments - that more standardised airport assets would be good.

Paul,

When I change a classic aircraft to a startup one, I change the kuid serie from 10000 to 12000. So Trainz cannot update automatically, as it it was a simple change of index. Also I do not obsolete former kuids.

Pascal

Appreciate that Pascal and I change those manually but I'm talking about, for example
Malaysia 380 12131:1 to 12131:2
Icelandair 321 12246:2 to 12246:4
Alitalia 321 12250:2 to 12250:4
Air FRance 321 12256:2 to 12256:3

and some others recently. Is there something about these being modified to T:ANE standard that TS12 doesn't like I wonder - though other recent upgrades to 3.5 HAVE updated OK

Good Morning Rob --

I have known Ian (Vulcan) since 2002 -- He has been my mentor all these years. I've learned Gmax because of his teachings , and then 3dmax, back when Trainz was just scrolling, through countless of emails! So yes, sir, I know Ian very well! -- I know Bill's contents, but not him personally!

I first introduce the airport concept back with Trainz 2004, since those days I was playing X-PLANE a lot, but things where limited in trainz! Thanks to Ian he took it to another level now that Trainz is more advance! -- Then Craig (seeseeme), another dear friend, introduce this thread, and the rest is history! LOL

I also believe in quantity, for example, My Desert layout has 5+ airports --- national and international, and each airport looks differently. The layout sits in my files since I have not work on it in ages due that I am on Marsz. -- Took a glance at this video, and scroll to 16:40

Video has 2 airplane scenes: #1 the take off from a desert runway, and then Heinz International airport landing to gate! -- Enjoy guyz!!!

The bridge idea sounds similar to an idea that I talked with Ben Dorsey, but in this case, an airlock that would expand forward when a marsz vehicle stops at a trigger. We talked about this last year, but we got side track with other anima items, and we have not re-visit the subject --- If we do one day I will make a point to ask him about airport stuff, etc ..

Now, the pieces that I have made does not include any taxiway, but only the black and yellow marker (track) which will connects to Ian's items, but it will not look uniformly correct. (I use google earth JKF International airport to see how the markers are set-up) The taxiway I use is from Zatovisualworks, which is a spline. -- I have also made airport items many years ago (Ultimate and T04 versions), and maybe one day I go back and modified them now that I have a better perspective on creating items!

I saw the pages, and the tutorial -- well done on both accounts, sir!!! -- Also, a long time ago I made a few hangers that can be use in the desert -- These are old, for T04 -- They're camouflage items for desert and jungle!

Briefly, my airport pieces -- I have seen what Ian and Bill has done, so these items can complement those items in one fashion or another, sir :hehe: ...

Thanks for your post, sir and check out that vide -- airplane takes off from my desert layout!
Have a great day!

Nice one Ish,

It was an interesting coincidence watching your Pilbara Iron ore train in action. I'm currently part of a team designing rail weighbridges for 7 BHP Billiton iron ore sites in the Pilbara (North Western Australia). All bar two of those sites are tunnel loaders (train drives under the stockpile through a tunnel to load) so only two sites are a bit like your video.

Anyhow. Sounds like you have a good plan. Keep up the good work.

Now. Back to my P:LANEZ wrangling.....

Hello Rob,

Thank you, sir for the kind words!!!

In the Desert layout, from an airplane point of view, planes are set up to take off and land automatically, using the CPC rules -- I have a demo that demonstrates this concept, where I have planes land of intervals of 1 minute, heading to the gate ... as one heads to the gate, you can use the huge 747 land in the background ... as they stop at the gate the plane disappears, while another takes its' place ... it repeats like this over and over -- it's just a demo I did a long time ago to see how it looks -- You can do a lot, like sending each plane to different gate -- taking off requires more work, since a plane needs to backwards, and then forward -- automatic driver rules must be use with the CPC rules (have not tied it, tho) ! --- If anyone wishes to set it up I am willing to send you guys this demo layout, so you can see how the markets are set, and how to set up the CPD rules to emit and consumes, etc ... the internal settings, etc ... it's time consuming if you set up lots of planes, since you would need to plug each number for each plane, except for a set (I think) ... since it's been a while, a few years perhaps there's an easier way, if anyone knows one!

(CPC rule from Sforget only -- someone copy what Steve did, without his permission since Steve left trainz years ago and did a poor job doing it -- Steve is a friend)! A

nyhow, anyone interested PM with email please!

Rob, sir, take care now --- And thanks again for that info on the Ore!

Hi Guys,

Some nice activity here. :)

Thanks for the nice words Ish. Ish has asked for a NASA Shuttle transport aircraft, they used the Boeing 747-100 model. Since we had just updated the Boeing to a startup model, I thought we could accommodate this one.

The aircraft has the supports for the shuttle and the special vertical fins on the tail plane:

nasa100.jpg

Now I know Ish did not ask for a shuttle, but if you build a chicken you do need to make the eggs to go with it, so the shuttle is a product, you can load or unload it in Surveyor:

A few things to sort out, coming soon.

Hi folks,

Well done Ian. Nice!

From me. a quick announcement of a recent stuff up of mine.

I've somehow managed to copy in the wrong script file for the B737 series (excluding the United 212 & Southwest 2H4). I'm working on correcting it now, but it will take a while to come through.
My advice is to hold of updating them until I can upload them again.

Cheers

Rob

Good Morning Ian --

Wow ,:udrool: thank you so much, sir, for granting this request, for taken the time since I know TANE is driving us all crazy from a script point of view! --

Well done, Ian!!!

The Globemasters are also showing failures. I've now re-uploaded all the B737s & Globemasters. DLS is back on track now (touch wood) so they should be available in a couple of days.

The tiger Moth goes Startup.

Thanks to Vulcan, the Tiger Moth is now more realistic, with start/stop engine, sounds and smoke.

Here, my 4 aircrafts in various colours, belonging to the Aéroclub of Epinal, training for a show.

Soon at the DLS.
Compatibles with TANE

Hi Gordon

Nice to see you on a visit to Heathrow - have you noticed the Concorde gate guard at the main tunnel entrance? (out of scale I know, the original was a 1/3rd (I think) replica. Replaced now with an Emirates A.380 replica - VERY bad..

I was hoping by now to have uploaded a revised map but STILL waiting for the Terminal 5 and Central Area buildings to be approved (submitted on 20th June). In the meantime tinkering around and manually changing upgraded aircraft as and when they appear. The track and signalling is now completely re-designed around gates 301-307 to eliminate the conflict with locked junctions between push backs and passing taxiing aircraft.

Enjoy your trip back to Auckland on the Hobbit!

Paul

Paul, you should create a museum now in the premices of Heathrow airport!!

My Airbus A319 have been updated to TANE and uploaded today (14 models).
