And, for the Australians' a Kendell Airlines (Ansett) Gulfstream.

Small gripe here nzms. Ansett ceased to exist here in Oz back in 2001. Whether they used these Gulfstrteams or not I don't know either, but I can't exactly criticise your imagination.

So there's some random trivia for you all.
Happy Planezing,;)
Scott.

Actually Scottling, Ansett ceased operations in December 2000, trust me I was employed with them and thats when we were all told about its fate. It was removed from the ASX in March 2001, and formally liquidated by July 2001. So I suppose you were right. (Btw they never operated Gulfstreams, but I wish they did as they would look good in their livery!)

Also, as a current Air Traffic Controller the main reasons why airports use cross runways is mainly for wind compatibility as a crosswind of even 8kts can blow a plane off the approach for the runway. (max crosswind for many commercial aircraft is roughly 16kts before they have to change runways or divert.) It also helpful for traffic levels. This is why they want to open another runway at Heathrow as their two runways are swamped and it is extremely hard to get a landing or departing slot there.

Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone,

I think I have finally finished my Airport at Cootamundra, it has taken me a week though to sort out a certain flight path then this *(*&_( pilot came along and tried to stuff things up :hehe:

Here he is upsetting the good people of Cootamundra.

I certainly would not be a passenger with this guy :hehe:

He has no idea about landing procedures :hehe:

Ansett hasn't existed for HOW LONG!? No wonder the check-in assitant looked at me so strangely! :hehe:

Been busy again and have reskinned a JetStar A320 (it's actually a 737 but they look similar!)

I have actually just finshed reading Ansett. by Staurt Wilson which describes the history of the airline, hence the Kendell gulfstream plus this 737

Re Craig's pilot;

It reminds me of the story the famous test pilot Eric "Winkle" Brown gives in his autobiography Wings on my Sleeve when as a student in 1936, Ernst Udet gave him a trip in a Bücker Jungmann. Coming in to land Udet inverted the aircraft and continued his approach inverted until about 50ft above the runway before rolling it upright again.

There are a couple of matters at the moment, one is with the script that lifts the tail off the ground on take-off. It still needs some fine tuning and may be different with each plane. The landing gear does act like a pantograph and works well, with only a slight problem for the Warthog. I have no idea how Ian saw this and when he told me it was very hard to see. On the warthog the wheels raise forward and up, the front wheel actually raises slightly to much for the comfort of the pilot. It ends up between his legs :hehe:. Another screenshot of the landing gear raising as close as I can get for you;

With the Landing gear raising, it has the same problem as all other Pantograph's in AI control in that it is raised automatically. The only thing to do with this is to start the plane off on a spare baseboard and reach "flying" height before it comes into view of the actual layout. I have actually had made a handy little tool (by Eldavo) which is not released yet. You place this "trigger" on any track and when you drive over it it will raise or lower the pantograph automatically for you. This works fine with these Planes, but it still does not help in AI control.

The yellow/orange track used is kuid:210456:10015 - "mshtrck OR 4m" and is on the DLS. As I said it is very handy to use as you can see it in the Mini Map. Once the track is used you can replace it in 2004 using TrainzObjectz and also in 2010, but I am not sure what you would do in 2006/2009. There are other tracks from the same creator but I have not found one that works this way.

Hope this helps.

It is avalible for TRS2004?

I very much doubt it. Read his autobiography and you will see in his long test pilot career at Farnborough he had a lot more "hairy" experiences. Incidentally he holds the world record for the number of different types of aircraft flown.

Great work nzms, will you be releasing these or are they just to tease us :hehe:

Gordon

Hello again,
If Ian gives the thumbs up I can upload the Gulfstreams and the Ansett 737 quite soon but the JetStar A320 still needs some touch ups.

I see Craig needs to have a few words with his pilots again. :)

Jamie, I had put aside the hangar, I need to look at the trigger placement and radius, for the script. Backing out, the aircraft tail protrudes through the doors before they open, rather expensive. It is interesting to notice the shadows of an aircraft inside appear on the outside with the doors closed.

nzms, no problem your releasing the repaints, they look good. Perhaps they can fly across the Tasman.

subway125, while the aircraft could fly in TRS2004 some of the necessary animated script functions do not work in that version. Most of the models to date are build 2.6 and the next versions will be 2.7 or 3.2, since Auran will not accept uploading build 2.6 for TRS2006.

Ian

Hello all,
Went to upload the Gulfstreams last night and have encountered an error: "Tag icon0 in the container 'traincar' is obsolete":'( .
Once I have fixed it I will upload ASAP.

The icon0 tag gives the green tick in the Surveyor menu picture, showing that the item is an industry one, it loads passengers. I have left it in there so users can quickly see industry capable models. I found it useful, and because my models are build 2.6 to date, it only shows as a warning, not an error.

Auran have made it obsolete on TS2009 and 10, but they have not made any suitable replacement. There is then no easy way to find industry items to use, from the Surveyor menu pictures. I have asked them about it and did not get a useful answer.

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=53898

Now while you can remove the icon0 tags (two places in the config) you can instead change the Trainz build to 2.7, which is for Trainz Classics, and able to be uploaded until 2011.

http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php5/Trainz_Life-Cycle_Policy

This then shows only a warning in TS2009 and 10, which is not a problem. The advantage is that the reskin is then available to more users.

G'Day Ian
I was just wondering if this hangar will be uploaded when finished?? I've got Bill's but that one looks good, and it has auto-doors

Jamie

I dont check this thread often, and I know this is REALY late after the fact, but I have a comment concerning the V-22.
The AF version is actualy called the CV-22. Marines have the MV-22 or just V-22.

Just my two cents as my dad has worked on that thing for my entire life now. Im 16.
