that's a good argument, about cabs -- but, any conceptual argument is a delight. the model railroader imagines a world too, and does with it as he can. they even have little t.v. cameras for the head of your engine. some people like that, and the idea of driving a train, as in flight-sim, probably came from flight-sim people. i find it pretty boring, but mostly because most of the routes aren't set for cab -- you can't see anything out the windows, and there's no brakeman waving you instructions...
