Wow - that got your attention....geez....:hehe:

I got the urge to build a bit again, so this is a little classification facility I've been working on. It has an inbound yard, a classification yard with working hump, and outbound yard, and a loco/damaged car facility.

Just a quickie.

What retarders are you using, do they slow to a set speed or is it stop or nothing.
With about 10-15 miles of track either side you could call the route getting the hump.

Well, even though it goes against my rule of using all DLS content, I had to use the retarders from the humpyard kit at TPR, as they're the only ones I could find.

And the way it's set up, the first retarder on each siding slows the car down considerably, and then there's a slight down-grade, until, about 80% of the way down the siding, there's two more retarders that slow it down to a crawl. If the car goes past those, there's a slight up-grade, which brings it to a stop, and, in some cases, will actually cause it to roll back a bit. It's not totally perfect, but it was the best solution I could find, while keeping things simple.

It's eleven baseboards, but is quite heavy with the grasses, so it could run a little slow if loaded down with 100s of pieces of rolling stock. It's intended to be a free-for-all for anyone to use in their own routes - just mention me as a creator!!!! I ask for so little.:hehe:

I've really been wanting to add something like this on my own route...and on that note, which way is it oriented, out of curiosity? the reason i ask is my own route runs nominally north-south, and i don't think it can dogleg east-west for long, before it runs into the Missouri River:hehe:.

It's actually situated in an East/West orientation. I've been thinking of a way to change it to North/South, but I haven't tried it yet.

And no, it is not available yet - I've still got a couple of friends trying it out first. Hopefully within the next week or two.

well, only 11 boards, thats...(does quick calculations in head) 5 and 1/2 miles, so that's not bad. My route isn't THAT close to the Missouri River:hehe:

anyway, awesome route. i could use this by itself, just to kick some cars around in cab mode.
