Multiple Train Sims / Games

It seems that I have a one track mind ... only being able to handle Trainz, and only Trainz ... and nothing else

How doe's one handle multiple train sims, let alone multiple video games ?

As Trainz takes up many hours per day, there is little other time to play other games / sims

How do you guy's manage all those games to play, in a conglomeration, per week ?

It's pretty easy to play a lot of different video games honestly (unless you're creating stuff for them in which case, haha no).

More of a play-until-you're-bored kind of thing then switch games. Might play one game for a few hours and then switch to something else, and a few hours later switch from that. Depends on the user; some may play a game for 7 hours straight and have no other time for other games but some (like me) split up time for different things. Last time I played anything for "many hours per day" was getting back into Factorio a few weeks ago, and now that has dwindled.

tl;dr depends on people and how much they want to play games

Cheers,
SM

I play 1 one day, and another the next.

ok say I was playing TS12 on Monday, and on Tuesday I play Run 8 but I get bored so I go to Railworks TS16, and Wednesday I play Open Rails for 1 hour and go to TS12.

That is how you do it

Or do you mean owning more than 1?

Cascaderailroad, I too would seem to "have a one track mind" finding myself immersed within Trainz everyday; albeit I have every train sim available [compatible with Win7] on my computer, including uh... "Railroad Tycoon 2" -heh, heh :hehe: [Railroad Tycoon 3 not compatible] and of course "TS16 / Railworks '16" to which I have spent hundreds of dollars on!!! I find myself playing Railworks when my computer is "Updating Trainz Asset Database*" as my computer takes practically a whole day to run its course; as my TS12 database contains nearly 1TB of assets!!! :o [I know what some of you might think... why not get rid of all those assets, I just know I'd never use! :mop:Well, my answer to that is, one day I might find I would have needed such an asset (I've deleted in the past); and forgotten I had ;) ]

(* I know waiting for "TADDaemon" to finish executing upon exiting Trainz, and before shutting down my system, is most imperative to avoiding the Updating Trainz Asset Database utility; when next I launch Trainz! However, this isn't always the case; especially when something goes wrong while in CM... such as a lost connection w/ the DLS.)

But then there is that history enthusiast part of me, that -after more than a year- takes hold of me, and I find myself taking that much needed breeder from Trainz!!! ["Too much of a good thing... " they say!] I have quite the collection too of history strategy games, on my computer! Notable the "Civilization" franchise! :udrool: I would find myself heavily immersed in Civ5 for five months... then I wake up one day with Trainz fever... [and forgive the pun] Civ5 is history!!! :hehe:

I have only T:ANE as my rail simulator since I moved TS12 offline to a backup drive which sadly failed about a month ago taking out that along with all my content I had in that version.

I usually will use T:ANE until I get annoyed with it and then go off and kill enemies in Arma3 instead until the server lag gets annoying.

Usually I'm busy with upgrading my computer when I'm not playing trainz, or else I listening to music, creating content for trainz as well. Other then that, I'll play some retro games, either on the computer, or on the respective original hardware (N64, Gameboy, SNES/SFC).

I will move around between the various sims/route projects as the fancy takes me, having no sense of loyalty towards any one of them. I tend to do route editing during slack time in the day, or if the missus is watching the latest comic book clone TV show on the box. The evening is then generally reserved for "proper" gaming, currently Fallout 4 but could be GTA, Mass effect even a bit of flight sim if it takes my fancy. At the end of the day, it's all just entertainment passing the time until we die so shouldn't take any of it too seriously!

PS: Shouldn't this thread be in "Community" as it is more General Chit-chat than General Trainz?
