MP36 Project

Any new updates on the MP36 model, because sadly I am tailing this project with my MBTA GP40MC engine and possibly another...not sure yet!!

I had to take a pause break so I was in Wisconsin for a week. Like I said, give Andrew some time to get his google sketch up.

A lot of empty words. And the object himself? A simple box only.

You Aughta Want to Jump In Sketch Up there and work on the Mesh as well If it's your model as much as his... What have you done towards this project so far?

I've done some tutorials to learn how to edit the locomotive. If everyone is being so rude, and is bugging me about this darn project. I may make it private. If the google mesh does not work, then I will make the rest of the mesh my self. I don't know exactly think I want to use google sketch pro unless i absolutly need to. I've learn how to use GMAX. I needed a jump so I can have time to complete the locomotive. I think GMAX will give it details like the F59PHI. So basically, that's all so far, but if google sketch doesn't work, then I will just edit the box I started. Then I will do beta and all of that stuff.
Sorry I haven't been around, basically I could be doing this until I'm blue in the face. But we will get it done.:(

PLEASE, I DO NOT WANT COMMENTS LIKE THAT ON MY THREAD, OKAY?! I WILL HAVE MORE THAN A DARN BOX SOON, LET THE PROJECT COOK SOME MORE. To me, that is discriminating a content creator. Plus, I have to become more familiar with the programs.JEEZ, sorry, I have just about lost my patience with others, so please excuse the comments as more of this happens.

Sorry to hear, That wasn't my intentions, just only Progress I've seen was from Andrew, I'm glad to hear the content creator is working, If Google Sketch Up is going to be a pain I Suggest You measure what you have already, And Rebuild in Gmax, I'd Help You But this and the next month I'm trying to finish up my Whitcomb 40tonner Before School Starts.

Yea Fsp what the heck have you done for this community because as far as i know personaly youve done nothing so dont talk crap if you cant back it up...

I must admit, there has been very little... progress on this locomotive over the 2 and a half months that it has been active. I wouldn't jump on FSP merely for stating the facts as they are. Sometimes a good frank opinion is hard to come by.

Personally, I think you may have gone about this project entirely in the wrong way. It appears from your original post that you have very little prior experience with GMAX or any other 3D modeling application.

If that is true (and please excuse this impromptu lecture if it isn't, I do not intend to offend), I should like to make this one point clear: you can't just start out with something as complicated as a locomotive.
For instance, I started out with simple things like wineglasses, worked my way up through penguins and billboards, then started on buildings. I didn't create a fully realized locomotive until only about a month ago after 4-odd years of practice. (I still can't figure out how to get it into Trainz, though. :|)

So, in short, if you want to make this locomotive go from more than a beveled rectangular prism into a whole locomotive, you're gonna need a lot of practice.

Sorry

I directed that message to FSP. Has he spread rumors on any of your guises thread? And I definetly hope that a moderator comes over to this thread.

I apologize for the confusion of this noobie comment.

That was for FSP, I wasn't directing anything negative at you. If i did, I'm sorry, it's just that I don't like being bothered like that. You are fine.

Yea, I totaly agreed with that. I think that I'm going to do other simple projects like buildings, before this, so once I get a mesh, I will put it on hold. The only reason that this is going slow is because I've been busy with other things, but I was trying to update that there will be a mesh soon that I will give it edit. But I really wanted to build a locomotive everyone will like.:(

I can't however be working on it 24/7 and have it done. I'm sorry, I just can't because I can get busy, plus, I have limited time I can spend on the computer.

very, very, very early stage

Hi!

As I see, this project is offline for a while. I was playing with gmax, and this is the result:

It`s far away from finish. The mesh must be redone, and I need to make proper textures.

If anyone could send me links, pictures, drawings, etc. it would be appreciated.

Cheers

Peter
