Dear All
As an avid fan of trainz 2009 it would be nice if we the ones who are not as talanted as some of you Route Builders we had more routes to choose from as most now days come with most of the route missing ie the track.I know you cant build routes 24/7 but for us brits it would be nice to have some routes we can use the last route to be put up was a pico one board but you have to buy the add on to use it. please for us who cant build can we please have more British Routes

24/7 still doesn't give me enough hours in the week to do much! As an example Alan, the current route I'm tackling is now over 12 months in and not a quarter of the way through it yet.

If you fancy some good UK routes, try here http://forum.british-trainz.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=872. The routes are all available as CDP files and require a minimal amount of content searching or content replacement and are easily edited to your liking. There are many, many more UK based routes available on the DLS. If you search for username vern, I'm pretty sure he has created a number of UK routes.

I think TS12 has a pretty decent Brits route. Have you considered investing in the latest version of Trainz?

I must say that pfx has a very practical point alantaylor61. I spent some 3 years off and on building the whole of the giant tramway system that existed here in Glasgow until 1962. Still amaze myself at how I got it finished as times that I nearly threw in the towel came up every so often!

Now I am building one of those British routes you talk about in that I am three-quarters way through laying the whole of the Northern Ireland Railway and is just as trying espeically with one of the routes I am trying to conclude. You have to have breaks or I think the temptation to leave it will emerge - but there for many that still comes up and is the result! Not easy I cannot nip out and look at something as there is some water between there and me. Perseverance and great self-discipline are keys I'd say. On a couple of occasions I have ripped things up in parts and spent time redoing it. However, I do have a stubborn streak inherited from my family so I may murmour under my breath but plodding (and plodding is accurate) on!

Sirs may i thank you all for your comments and i will try all, and may i wish you all good luck with what you are doing and will look forward to running your routes one day. You have all given me hope to carry on Thank you all for your time in this matter Alan.

Trying Swindon

Vern, thanks. I'm giving your track a go. I downloaded it but it is missing some assets

KUIDs missing are: <kuid2:126773:21001:3> up until <
kuid2:126773:21019:3>

Hope you can direct me or update DLS.

P.S
What are: "alpha channel artefacts" as mentioned on the website.

These are the Transdem ground textures which I thought had been removed but appears the route is still looking for them. However, worry not as they are not required to run the route having all being painted over during the building process. In discussion with Geophil (Roland Ziegler) on the Transdem forums it appears I missed a couple of steps in the removal process. A shame Roland doesn't put the textures on the DLS as this would avoid the problem.

Thanks Vern. The track looks good and I'll at least have a bit of a drive around the track as it seem like you've put in a lot of effort into the track and its history.

I usually like to keep my "missing dependencies" folder clear. (I'm sure I'm not the only one) If you hadn't told me about the KUIDs I would have just deleted it because of the missing pieces
