More Informative DL info on Sites

Hi guys,

I would like to see more info in general from sites regarding downloads.
With all the trainz versions available it is sometimes difficult ( not stated clear or bold enough ) on some sites to determine which assets will work in which version , and what can be done ( if anything ) to get specific assets designed for a specific version to work in other versions .It does not have to be longwinded info , just basic stuff that trainzers of all categories can understand .
I would like to hear other trainzers views on this , perhaps it is just me blowing my hooter for nothing.Jan

It's difficult to advise on exactly which versions it will work with due to changes in what is accepted and what is not in later versions of Trainz.

As for fixes, the sticky by gisa in the TS2010 forum is normally good for this.

If your using 2010 in compatibility mode (build 44088) you can get away with a fair bit of iffy locos and they'll still work.
The east european sites to me seem to be better, even some build 2.0 locos will work in 2010 non compat mode, plus they have stock/wagon types which are exclusive to their networks.
As Shane has said it's hit and miss, if you like the look of it download it and if there's a big list of faults delete it, the odd fault clone it first then see how you go.

Wow! You're able to do that?

In other news, Trainz has pretty much become a buyer beware, use at your own risk program. More information would be nice for those that download elsewhere than the DLS, but the DLS is no guarantee either if you don't understand your version of the program.

I think that's why N3V prefer users to use Content Manager (and that's why I've got a guide for downloading using Content Manager in the DLS,FCT forum).

There are various potential pitfalls, but most of them I've covered with my tips/tutorials.
