Modifying routes that are on the DLS

Good evening all, I have been wondering for a bit about routes since Blender is deciding to give me headaches in learning how to use it. So i decided to let that go for a bit and concentrate on a rebuild of the original Highland Valley 2004, created by Chuck 'CeeBee' Barkman. I would like to eventually release it and not have to put it into the vaporware pile, but I am not sure what license applies when a route is of this age, aside from the original creators license. Would anyone be able to give me any advice on this? If released, its destination is the DLS.

Tried out the route ... its gradients are a bit steep, and abrupt in places ... switch's are a bit too tight radius ... might be worthwhile totally re-doing the entire route ... I once thought of re-doing Neumans - NEC, but correcting things would take allot of re-work !

This has been done, the Kickstart route is based on Highland Valley.

I'm sure it's nice and all, but I only have Trainz 12. I see no reason to not do a rebuild of a route like that, and I for one enjoy running it. I have been running into one slight error though. When i get done with the initial track replacement and flora replacement, the route becomes faulty. "The tag 'thumbnail' is not permitted within the container type 'map'." How can i fix this single error in Trainz 12?
