That is just amazing. Where is it set? The scenery looks Southern US but the rolling stock doesn't look US.

Way off, hehe. It's set in southern Victoria, Australia.

Thanks for the kind words, fellas! I tried to set up an AI to run trains around the circuit in a way that it will stop and trigger the other train to go around the other way, but that didn't really work so well... I did fix that one waterfall though :p

Oknotsen: the plan is only around 2 meters by 1.5 meters in O scale, but a transfer table at each end would make it around 3 meters by 0.5 meters, so it would make a great living room presentation :)

Cheers

Do you think that this might show up on Trainz Forge sometime? It really is great!

I'd rather have a series of them done first. They're nice because I can do one in a couple of hours, so if I have a few to spare I can just make another then join them all up.

Are those your textures, and is that texture spline that fills in the rounded edge of the layout yours as well?

Yeh, working on balancing the diffuse and speculars on them to match ground tiles. I've got them working reasonably well for between 10am-3pm, but sunrise and sunset there is too much difference for my liking.

Cool. Ok, then you know my next question, cuz I really like your textures. Any possibility of making and releasing texture splines, especially of the new batch of textures you released? Not only would they work well for creating model railroad routes, but to use as fill-in's for content that use dig holes, like inspection pits, trenches, canals, etc. If not, its no pressure as I've done pretty good so far improvising other types of splines to achieve the effect I need. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely. I've already made splines for all the HDTP-A set in 2 versions; one a flat 20x20m square, the other is a 20x30m ridged spline for when you want to have the fascia edge higher than the track - for cuttings close to the edge of the layout. I've just got them both to balance the lighting between 7am and 5pm against ground tiles. I'm happy with that. I'm going to play with the ridged spline for a little while longer to make sure I get the mesh working how I want it to. Check the freeware thread in the next day or two.

Alright, back on topic. I forgot how much fun route building is, especially model railway routes.

First yard out of the west fiddle is based on Narrandera with a few adjustments to suit multiplayer sessions. The coal train in shot wouldn't normally be out this far, but it's my minimum loop length and grade test train.
