Model Railroadz

Here something I've been working on in my spare time. It's loosely based on the actual model layout in this video by Vic Smith.

Interesting layout. What concrete median you using? Looks like it would be useful.

I think that this format is being pushed too far. One characteristic of a model train layout is that all points are accessible from the walkway, on some I am seeing, the builder would have to crawl across the boards to reach the farthest points. They are becoming too big for the sake of being big which to me is not the point of the exercise, the attraction of this format is that they recall the layouts we once had, and they don't need to be monsters.

Just an observation.

This is incorrect because as layouts started getting bigger in the real world moddelers figured out they could use access hatches to reach farther back on layouts.

What I said still applies, and I don't see any access hatches. However, I am not going to argue the point.

My personal opinion is that some of the later routes are too big, they have lost the appearance of a home layout, they are becoming no more that Trainz routes with skirts and walls. Big for the sake of being big!

I am also not going to argue this.

I'm using "Strab Haltestelleninsel schmal" by rw1hh <kuid2:69084:37020:1>, it should be built in to TS12 as it's used on tume's Municipal Transit Route.

I was just looking at his road system, nicely done, could I ask what road is that, looks like gfisher not sure thought, thanks, :)

Technically it is gfisher's but it's actually the reskins that slabay did a while back of the AASHTO 32ft roads that gfisher made. Just do a search of "AASHTO 32ft" on the DLS and you should see them and you are very welcome.:)

I completely agree with you and I am aware the track does appear to be out of reach on my layout however, it is not as out of reach as it looks.

And thanks to all for the compliments and criticism.

All the work shown here is very impressive. Epoche3bis4, a ? how long have you worked on your route. And is it freelanced, or from a published plan

Epoche simply amazing! Had me fooled by the first shot looked like a small trestle then i scrolled down to the next picture and was amazed by the size of it. Keep up the good work everyone. :)

How long until someone makes a huge person for model railroadz (maybe drivable with a huge dcc controller :hehe::hehe::hehe:)?

I'm actually working on a massive DCC controller, a variety actually, but you guys didn't hear that.:sleep: Shhh don't tell anyone.

NCE, Digitrax, might even throw in a bachmann (bleh. Having had one of those systems I can tell you they suck). Also working on plug-in panels for the walk around remotes as well as a spline asset to represent the cable. All far from completion though.
