Model Railroadz

felix_g: many work in details, i like that...

As of my model layout's development, i post now some images. I changed some backdrops to gain back the choice of choosing any sky.

Federal Street

Hi jpereira --

Yes, that route is finished. And there are a couple of sessions for it too.

There is a thread about it here:

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/show...uot-Federal-Street-Switching-Yard-quot-layout

To download, just search the Download Station for "Federal Street".

At the moment I'm working on another one-board layout, the "Deepwater Railroad Co". The track is in place, about 5 hours work. Next comes the terra forming and scenery. Without wanting to be bound to any deadlines, it should be on the Download Station in the next few days, certainly be the end of the week.

Guys --

There are some absolutely wonderful screen shotz of layouts in this thread. Please hasten to reassure me:
  1. They will appear on the Download Station.
  2. They are not frame rate killers.
  3. It will not be too difficult to get all the dependencies.

Nice work Sura, your backdrop fits in very well... even when looking from that tricky angle in the 2nd to last shot.
And it seems you like the same trees as I do... :)

I think that you've really stirred up something and I just love this thread and this concept for the use of Trainz. I won't stop building my big routes, but this concept surely adds a new level of enjoyment for me.

This thread got me way back into trainz i started after some time away and didn't do much till i seen this awesome idea!

Sura, what's the KUID and location of the dirt embankment that your track rests on in your third shot?

Thanks in advance.

Not on my game PC right now, but expect to be there later today; now to find a few minutes time and energy (it was a long week).
I have some ready to go to match the other scenery items I uploaded earlier this week, which include baseboard trim with base endcaps. Should I upload them?

Working on a version of Ted York's Cajon Pass, I discovered I needed a few more items, among them single and double steps for raised platforms (use my wood floor to match), waybill card holders, and DCC pockets. :)

Hi Blake,

that is a spline object of Vendel, called FMA2 scarp L30 grass02 (KUID:149987:137037), but i do not know if he uploaded it to the DLS or not. It is possible that i ask for his permission and upload it, if it is still not there. Actually it is a half scarp, with grass and flowers and you need to use a pair of them to make a complete embankment.

Cheers:

Yeah, i also use Polish trees, although i prefer the summer version ;) . Speed trees were a catastrophe for me, all my greater layouts failed due the amount of speed-trees needed to build a prototypical vegetation. And all of them are blown by the wind, so they needed extra resources for recalculating leaf-positions. Now, that everlasting wind is not part of a railway-simulator for me - shadows and collision boxes would be much more important, i guess :hehe:

Righto gentlemen. Feel free to come visit The Basement :p

You will need stuff from this thread and content packs from JRs MWG 3.0.
Everything else should be on the DLS.

I've downloaded everything as you suggested. Looks good with one problem, no track anywhere. What tracks did you use and from where? Out of your four offerings, The Hobby Table is the only one with track.

It is the JR Dk Grey Dirty & JR DK Grey Track from Jointedrail.com

Thanks for this. Now here's the strange bit, the tracks are already downloaded. In surveyor 61388, nothing shows. I can lay fresh track and it shows with no problem. I've checked for layers, locked layers, nothing explains the problem.

I found this nice looking roundhouse that made the rail excavator and I like it, except I can't find the turntable for it. Im assuming there is one for it, because the thumbnail shows one. I've looked at all of of cj187's stuff and Qcyk85's I've also searched just turntables and Drehscheibe and still no luck. Can anyone help?

I think I found it, 'Turntable 20m 10°' I'll have to try it though...

EDIT: Yep, that's it.

Holy crap, Eso. How're your frame rates going? :P

Stevo

He only needs one frame rate to make a screenshot :hehe:.
No way will a normal computer run that many Pofig SpeedTrees Efficiently! (Even if only a couple core assets and the sparkle would be annoying)
Better have a I7, 16Gb DDR3 Ram, SSD, and Two Top Notch Video Cards in SLI/Crossfire Configuration.

By far, the best Model Railroad in progress is by Felix. I hope it is released and thus why I keep checking out this forum post.
This does not mean the efforts of all who have posted screenshot efforts is not worthy of congrats, just mean my interest lies with Felix.

Vonhammer's new "Real Life" Layout looks good in design as well. Elevations should be considered Vonhammer.
To many times I read people who do whole basement layouts on one elevation end up redoing their entire train layout.
I would suggest to you Vonhammer to consider this during the design phase. It adds twice as much track footage in the same amount of space.
