Model Railroadz

Nice shots everyone!

Looked fun, thought I'd take a stab at it. A lot more fun building it than I thought!

Soon as my DLS limit resets I can get some better supports for it.

I had the idea to combine a load of them in a big room and have a sort of exhibition route we could put on the DLS :hehe:

Me too......this is a small example i made up on a couple of base boards.....would probably require more space to house a mini trainz fair with a number of different themes.....I also had the idea of using the longer edges that form the perimeter for high speed transport (maglev, monorail etc) running the full length of the set up.....as i said, just an idea....there is loads of possibilities.....

Great work everyone!

One more shot for the moment - bird's eye view... pardon, ceiling lamp's view: :hehe:

Really loving this thread. Loads of great shots by Ulmer, Eso, Kimo (obviously), Felix and Conrail just to name a few. Keep them coming :Y:!

Thanks for the extra walls and Digholes Oknotsen certainly makes it a lot easier.
You're welcome .
Thank you to Stationmistress for pointing me a silly mistake in the East-West dighole. An update is uploaded and will be available later.
Pretty funny nobody mentioned this before; the asset was on the DLS for 14 months already :hehe:.

Anyway,

I am happy to see the 'Huge' walls are populair.
I did notice that they sometimes are a bit boring when there is a lot of them visible above the tracks, usually in those nice overview shots some of you have posted.
I think something could be done about it, so to add to the fun I made a bunch of decoration assets:

huge_decorations.jpg

The one at the top is a simple clock that only shows the seconds. Time is relative and who wants to be reminded by the real time when enjoying your hobby, right? It is my first ever animated object.
The other 3 are pictures in a light wooden frame. The most right picture (BNSF spotted on route 66 a few years ago) also has a light above it; the asset has night mode.

All 4 new assets have just been uploaded to the DLS a few minutes ago. Just search for "huge decoration" in a few days.

I can perfectly understand the pictures I used for these assets might not be your person preference, so see the license that comes with the object for details about reskinning and re-uploading.

Giving this great idea a shot as I really love the concept behind it. I kind of got the hang of things but I have a couple questions:

1. How do you get the floor covering spline to go under the "table"? when i try the spline just rides up the slope/spot that was removed by the dig hole.

2. How do you get the supports to go under the "table"? it does the same thing as the floor covering spline when i try.

Thanks for any help,
Regards,
Jordan

p.s. Thanks to everyone who has created assets to go with this concept so far.
