A friend of mine is looking to be able to design a model layout that he can then build in real life on the computer. He does not have Trainz, and as such was wondering what would be the best software for that kind of thing.
Oh, I should mention that he perfers freeware, and it's a G-scale (1:22-1:29) model he wants to build. It doesn't need to be flashy or have the ability to drive model trains on it, he just wants to plan a very simple layout.
