Missing kuid for CNW F7A?

Coconut God
349 downloads, I can't be the only one seeing this.

After trying for several months to clear the cache, the whole cache, and nothing but the cache to get content mangler to look at the download station, I finally installed and patched a fresh copy of TS2010 to test new content. The one I have installed in the original copy of TS2010 is Locomotive sound effects library v1.05,<kuid2:45324:54002:3> which is build 2.9, no reason why it shouldn't be downloadable.

Of the 349 people who downloaded that F7, how many saw this problem and didn't report it? My uploads are all supposed to work out of the box with no KUID hunting required, that's why I painstakingly test each one in virgin copies of TS2009, 2010, and 12 to make sure all dependencies are built in or on the DLS and not faulty, no assembly required. If I don't get bug reports when somebody finds something wrong, how can I fix it if I don't know it's broken?

Come on people, give me feedback, save your polite silence for creators who actually have feelings to hurt.

CM Glitch - :3 is on the DLS but if your config calls for :2 CM will gripe about it's absence even though it won't actually use :2, it will use the newer :3.

Probably doesn't show up for most folks as 'missing' since anything but a brand new install probably has :1 and :2 installed from older downloads....

That's what really irritates me about the whole mess, near as I can tell none of the beta testers for the game ever tested any downloads in a brand new install. If they had, we wouldn't have this fiasco with session rules and drivers failing to get added to the KUID table.

That session and all the dependencies listed in the KUID table are present and accounted for, but I gotta hunt down which rule or driver character is causing this one.

I'm gonna take up a new hobby like trying to get milk from a male ostrich or herding cats.

Yep, the fact that rules etc are not garnered as session dependencies is beyond irksome - in fact it is beyond belief! I know you are stuck with the DLS, but the beauty of 3rd pary distribution is that I just stick all the non-built in session rules etc in the session cdp. That way the end user gets 'em no matter how hard CM tries to make it otherwise...

Andy :)

Wahoa - I just noticed the image in your first post - I was answering your text, but did't really look at the picture. What's with the red bar? The :3 DLS version of that asset is TRS09 which is iirc Trainzbuild 2.9. That red bar shouldn't be there in CM3.3. Now that IS weird....

Yeah, I don't know how long the content manager or the KUID2 replacement system have been around, but they both need to go back into beta. Eventually I gave up deleting and redownloading the F7 since I kept getting the same problem, cleared the search filter and typed in "Locomotive sound effects library". It found the KUID2:3 easily, view asset versions and there are a bunch that are all unknown. Downloaded the one that IS known, now it stops complaining about missing dependencies - but as soon as I launch the session there's the script error.

Screwball ZEN question of the "What is the sound of one hand clapping" type;

If these are unknown, how does it know they exist?
