miniature rly any body interested???

I agree Angelah. I haven,t played with it for years. A search revealed it on my old removable drive and 2 sessions I did for it. Compared to trainz, it,s corny. Might be good for kids who don,t want to get too involved with the endless paths that trainz can take you. Sorry to hear your decision to stick with 04. Perhaps you,ll come around in a year or so when 09 starts to show it,s true potential. CMP2 to me is the greatest step forward.

To get the full functions it is necessary to register and that costs US$15, so it isn't actually free....
Only the intial download is...

I have just bought it and find the track laying limiting because of set track pieces, rather like the Hornby sim. Getting ends to arrive in the right place after curves is sometimes a long and frought process!
Trainz leaves it standing in that respect with fully flexible tracks, rather like Peco Flexitrack or whatever it called.

Can be fun though, not as much as Trainz however....

There is a tool to connect two ends of track if you can't find a set piece that will fit

I have a suggestion, there should be models of the 24 in. C. P. Huntington trains manufactured by Chance Rides Inc. In my experience they are very popular in theme parks, city parks and zoos. Do a YouTube search C. P. Huntington and it should pop up with those trains

Depends on your definition of miniature.
I would be very interested in stock for the 15 inch gauge Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, for example.

I harbour a long standing desire to recreate Train Mountain, in Oregon or even the illusive Brisbane Valley Railway. So at some point I would like to see the ability to have properly scaled, 5", 7.25" and 15" railways in Trainz. Obviously you can take a miniature railway track plan and scale it up to full size, but then it's just another 12" to 1' replica. Also there's the issue of scaling the terrain as the DEM for the real location can't readily be expanded and heightened by a factor of 8, in the case of 7.25" gauge. (Unless there's an undocumented feature in Transdem I haven't spotted).

Well as the devs have given us TMR, for their next spin off, how about TMnR (Trainz MiNiature Railroads). We would need a track system, preferably Protrack and suitable steam and diesel/battery outline motive power with rideable straddle type cars.

Not difficult at all to create any scale of track or trains to exist in the 12"-1' scale ...one just has to open Blender or Gmax and do the math.
--The original thread died 7 years ago, likely due to being hijacked by a couple people discussing some other train game.

Many moons ago I made a series of 1:12 scale buildings but did not publish as no-one was interested. My idea was to create a model village tourist attraction on a conventional full-size layout/route. I also made some experimental track.

Agree - who on Earth would be interested in making or running a miniature or model railway in Trainz? It seems totally absurd.:D
RLY
It's like having the Trainz capabilities of creating a 30,000 baseboard DEM, the size of six Counties ... but instead cramming a Trainz route into a bedroom 4x8 model railroad platform :hehe: Silly, just Silly !
