Measuring Track Length

Hi All,

I'm sure a while back I saw a tool that could measure the length of track as you laid it down, and it took into account the bends etc (it was a spline type tool),but I now can't find it on the d/l station.Any help would be much appreciated.

Use the metric ruler as the imperial ruler may be inaccurate. Lay a piece if track just a bit longer than 1609.344 m long and fill it with a traincars ... re-measure the consist with the ruler ... save this "New Consist as "1 Mile Long Train".

Another tool to measure distances along the track is Tachymeter.
