Widened Lines - Metrovic at Farringdon

This thread seems to be getting off to a slow start but it looks promising. This is my Widened Lines project.
I have a lot more shots, but they all contain a wonderful new train that has not been released yet so I can't show it.................
This one shows Andi06's Metrovic with his Quad-Art stock at Farringdon Station, still incomplete. This of course is wrong, it should be Metropolitan stock, I have this from Paulz Trainz and I will make some new shots soon.

I'm working on the national express east anglia line from london liverpool street to chelmsford, might extend to colchester and ipswich. By the time its finished stagecoach would probably have taken over the franchise (thank god).

I won't quote the screenshot, but where does the brickwork in this shot come from? It looks really good!

Thanks, I made the brickwork myself, all the tunnels and bridges as well. The brick texture is from a photo of a brick wall in London taken by a friend of mine.

Actually I have to re-do them, I'm having problems with light that I think are due to having used double-sided textures. And since I made them I have changed over to Blender, and don't fancy going back into gMax!

There are more shots of the Widened Lines project on my website at www.mickberg.com.

Camden Road to North Woolwich (in Cravens DMU days) would be quite interesting, especially Connaught Tunnel with its arched approach and mixture of double and single bores.

Some good shots there Mick. I noticed the ones of Finsbury Park, Highgate etc and thought you may be interested in the following site http://www.abandonedstations.org.uk/Northern_Heights_1.html that section in particular. You may of course have seen it before but no harm anyway. It's one of my favourite sites relating to abandoned rail.

Cheers.
Thank you. Some of those shots are very old, made in UTC when I hardly knew what I was doing. I am in process of redoing the whole line.

Yes, I know the Abandoned Stations site well. Both the houses I lived in when I was young were within a stone's throw of the branch. I used to deliver newspapers to a row of railway workers' cottages just south of the Highgate South tunnel that had only one access, across a footbridge over the line. Sadly long gone.

Rob, are those Paulz' coaches or something else I don't know about?
Mick Berg.

They are Paulz Metropolitan Set coaches but I have slightly tweaked the textures to make them look a bit aged. They are the 4 preserved Ashbury coaches as found on the Bluebell Railway, sometimes referred to as the Chesham Set. Paulz supplies them as a set as far as I know.

They're some of his better models.
