Layer Problem?

I used transDEM to create a route from Wenatchee Wa to Everett Wa. I did it in 3 different routes. And then merge them together. I had a little trouble with the TransDEM-UTM and TransDEM-Vector when merging but I think I got everything right. The route looks good and everything lined up ok. It is when I tried to put a Track Marker down I got an error, it says “Cannot add object as the selected layer is above that of the targeted track. Trackside object cannot be placed in a layer above the track they are being attached to”. I have never messed with layers. It kind of makes me nervous. I can put down a track next to where I want the track marker. And put the track marker on that track and then move it over where I want it. But that would be hassle to do all the time. Thanks funnnyfarm

There might be some confusion here over what exactly is meant by "higher". In my case I always have all track in the highest route-layer, the one at the very top of the list. For example:-

It is possible that you might have the track in a lower layer, for example "Station Buildings" or "Invisible Signals" in the example above, while you are trying to place the track maker in the route-layer. A simple solution, but make a backup .cdp copy first, is to merge all the route layers into one and try again.
