Ladies and Gentlemen! Good evening...

Buffalo_trains93

It's snowy here.
Hello everyone,

Here are some screenshots of a route I'm working on. Nothing big nor spectacular, just my humble modeling. Any questions/comments/critisim are welcomed! The route is for TRS2009 SP3. There is NO release date planned. Furthermore, the route is heavily detailed, and some computers will not be able to handle it. Mine can hardly as it is :hehe: Please leave a comment, suggestion, or anything else you feel, as feedback is always welcomed!

Very Nice. You've created a nice mood to the theme. Keep up the good work.

Mike,

Thank you, I really do apprieciate it! Especially comming from a senior member like yourself! Although they're not the most spectacular screenshots, they're what they are, and I take alot of pride in them. I will post somemore later this evening.

Take care,

Ryan:wave:

I'll be looking forward to them. You're well on the way to mastering the art, and it truely is an art to get such a realistic looking route. Route building is a very tedious process and is so time consuming. You are to be congratulated.

Thank you Mike! I am far from it, but am learning, trying new things, and taking things that I see and like, and applying them to Trainz. Thank you! Yes, it is, but in my opinion it is, out of all the things to do in Trainz, the most fun. It gives you the most creative ability. There are no directions other than your imagination. Thank you once again Mike, I really do apprieciate it!

Looking good there :D

Keep up the good work

Now I can see this route having a lil bit of a PC lag, compared to that LS&I aka the "yupper" :hehe: route YOOPER, he needs to learn how to spell..... but will not be an issue for my PC...

WCL,

Thank you for your kind words, they're greatly apprieciated! Haha, yes, my Laptop has an ATI Radieon 3780, so the graphics are more-or-less killing it. Hopefully, I will have a new computer soon, that will allow me better FPS.

More Screenshots comming tonight! 8pm, EST!

Take care,

This is really looking fantastic! The level of detail is amazing!

But yeah, that would probably kill my computer.
(Oh wait. Something already has.:'( )

*Jaw dropping* Ryan, that looks excellent. Could you please tell me how you made the embankment in the 6th screenshot in your first post? Thank you for sharing these excellent screenshots.
Cheers,
Evan.

"Nice looking route. I love that sky. Could i have a name please?

Hello everyone,

First off, thank you kindly for the compliments! There are some new screenshots that should be comming up very soon! (Within an hour!)

To Matt;

Matt, thank you for the kind words, they are deeply appreciated! Certainly! The sky name is "December Sky 1" and is by compudoc.

At UP4012;

Thank you, kindly! I try my hardest to make this as realistic as possible! I have thought of that, for those that for one reason or another cannot afford a highend computer, and was thinking of creating a low poly version. Of course, tree's, track and grasses would be different, but it would be like the basic thing!

At Evan;

Thank you! I really appreciate all the kind words! Ahh yes! That embankment! Most of those shots, save the shot of the Station and the Warehouse are modeled from a real place, right here in Buffalo, New York! (My hometown) It is a place I railfan often. The basics behind it is that to the left of the screen there is a scrap and metal processing facility (Very small, recieves one car of materials a week). It sits up high on the embankment. The embankment itself was created by taking the road "Boulevard" from the splines section and creating a rise. It goes up 7.00ft, and is at about it's real height. I then used the Smooth tool to make the edges rise untill I was satisfied with how it looked. If you have anymore questions, or are still stuck, please feel free to post again, and I would be more than happy to help!

Thank you all once again, please look back for new screen's soon!

Take care,

Ryan:wave:

Hello,

Feedback and comments aswell as critisim are always welcomed! Let me know what you think! Also, I realize these are not as good as previous shots, but these are more Eyecandy area's and you really will never be in them for more than a few seconds. I will go back and re-do them as best I can over the night.

Thank you!

P.S. Yes, that city is really modeled with Streets, lights and sings. Yes, there is invisible track there to drive on. Yes, you can drive there with vehicles from the DLS. Actually, you can on the whole route really. It will be a session to chase a train around the whole route!

Wow..Very nice once again...This looks like it will be a nice route to run on....Keep up the good work :Y: And keep them pix a coming :wave:

Thank you! I really appreciate all the kind words!

You're welcome. That route is amazing and I look forward to the next lot of pics.:D

Let me know what you think! More shots comming tomorrow!

Take care,

Ryan:wave:

Ryan, generally all the shots reflect patience and attention to detail that would probably KILL me if I had to endure it. Well done. The composition of the shots overall is impressive. I particularly like some of the areas you've grassed and flowered.

Having said that I did notice some yellow and gray grid peeking through the texture (or lack of) in some shots. Some obviously have not been ground textured yet, but a few areas were faint enough to lead you to believe you may have missed them. I trust before your release you will closely examine the map for any trace of those pesky yellow lines.

There's your criticism from someone that could no doubt produce a worse route than you are in the process of making!:eek:
