Commenced 1[SUP]st[/SUP] July 1908 with a six carriage rake comprising:-
All dual fitted with Westinghouse and vacuum brakes.
All semi-elliptical, high roof profile.
First class was positioned at Liverpool end of train.

  1. Bogie Corridor First Three Compartment & Van Brake Carriage #’s 235 & 236 with 18F Seats to Diagram #93. Dimensions 56’ 0” Long 8’ 10 1/2 “ Wide. 2 x 4 wheel Bogies wide bearing 8’ 0” wheel base
  2. Bogie Corridor Full First Carriage #’s 233 & 234 with 36F Seats to Diagram # 92. Dimensions 54’ 0” Long 8’ 10 ½” Wide. 2 x 4 wheel Bogies wide bearing 8’ 0” wheel base
  3. Dining Car 12 Wheel First #214 with 33F seats to Diagram #85. Dimensions 65’ 6” long 9’ 0” Wide. Overall Height 12’ 0” Total weight 40 ton 5 cwt. 2 x 6 Wheel Bogies 11’ 6” wheel base and 42’ 0” centres.
  4. Bogie Corridor Third Dinner #1362 with 33T seats to Diagram #95. Dimensions 56’ 0” Long 8’ 10 ½ “ Wide. 2 x 4 wheel Bogies wide bearing 8’ 0” wheel base
  5. Bogie Corridor Third #??? With 64T Seats Diagram #90. Dimensions 56’ 0” Long 8’ 10 ½” Wide. 2 x 4 wheel Bogies wide bearing 8’ 0” wheel base

In all cases diagrams from the LYR diagram book are available together with a detailed description and other images of the carriages.
One of the locomotive’s was a George Hugh’s 4-6-0 #1509 brand new in June 1908. Scale drawings for this engine are available.
Item #2 was removed from service after couple of years and replaced more central in the rake by a composite. This is a contender however I am having that checked.
Bogie Corridor Composite #’s 910 to 919 with 12F & 24T to Diagram #62. Dimensions 54’ 0” Long 8’ 6” Wide. 2 x 4 wheel Bogies wide bearing 8’ 0” wheel base
Another quite early addition was an open side Corridor coach intended as a smoking saloon located near to the dining section.
Need to determine what this one is.
