Kuids ending in 127

In the following kuid number 2_146087:21331:127 what is the meaning of the 127 as I always thought it was usually the result of an error or is it showing the 127th version of the object?

In the past I've found anything ending in 127 is usually unknown & tends to show up from bad backups & re installs & be nothing but trouble

Why I ask is that today I downloaded 70 items from the DLS all starting with 146078 & 50 of them ended in 127.This is the way they are listed on the DLS as well

:127 woes

Dave,
The DLS automaticly applies a :127 version number (VN) if the creator forgets to put a VN on the end of a kuid2.
e.g. if I uploaded something with this kuid, "kuid2:123327:12345"
then it would appear on the DLS as "kuid2:123327:12345:127"

There are a lot of :127 assets built-in to TS2010, so I hope they don't cause trouble. They shouldn't, because you are allowed to have 128 versions (that's :0 to :127) in the kuid2: system.

The only problem is for the creator who cannot use the kuid2: system to make the :127's obsolete. I guess that's punishment for using erroneous kuid2: numbers in the first place.

Default

You would think it would start a zero if there is no other asset set to the number! Another little thing they overlooked or what! I no longer use K2 numbers, I just update to the same number and send a notice.

All you need do is delete the 27. If a creator did update that asset and you keep the 127, the update wont show and your maps will not find any lower versions of that asset. Ive had a number of these 127 assets and always delete the 27 and any new update will work. Most are caused by version 0 as trainz starts with 1.
