JR Trip to the "West Slope"- Picture thread

Nice, Deadpool! We don't get autoracks around here anymore so it's good to see them.

Speaking of, we just caught two more trains, one an autorack, following those videos. We went to go check out the signal bridge up the line and saw going over the bridge the first time and one the second, though I didn't get video. That made for 4 trains in the space of 20-30 minutes or so.

Hey guys,

This is a great photo log of your journey. It looks like you had a lot of fun doing your research. :)

I wish we had action like that back here in New England.

Yeah, same here, John! We can almost "feel" the trains going by the wife's shop. Same old diesels, usually 2, sometimes 3, hauling nothing but auto racks. They might make 2 trips a day to the auto port. Other than the odd oil tanker, that's all we ever see. I guess I shouldn't complain, if they close the auto port, there won't be any trains.

Cheers....Rick....loved the photos

I have to ask. With Mike now doing custom content now, will the "Conerail" in Cresson be made?:hehe: I'm guessing you will be making stuff like the Station inn, the engine terminal in Cresson and the Horseshoe curve visitor center. The entire Junitana locomotive works:D?

Model board of "SO" tower, South Fork, PA. A PRR-era interlocking diagram is available here. The museum also had the interlocking machine itself in the basement, of course, not attached to the model board. I'm hoping they might put up an interlocking simulation someday like they have in Harrisburg. That's about the only thing this museum is missing.

I noticed on my photos of this item that the old Summerhill branch and indicators as well as the old 4th main track and Stineman branch are still on the board covered up.

Also covered up is the track near the center #2, of the once 4 track mainline, I believe when that was torn out, and the line on the board was painted out, the rest of the tracks were renumbered #2 & #3, (instead of being #3 & #4, which they were originally in the 4 track era).

I just love that reflective glass marble bead "End Of Block" sign ... that should be made in Trainz, and lit up (to show the reflection/illumination).
