JR SL Signals and Safetran Signals

Dear Trainz community,

I am rather new to TRS22.
Therefore I watched the tutorial videos by DHTrainz (youtube) for CTC and APB signaling. I suppose the videos were made within TRS2019.
Additionally I read the "Smart Signal Properties" tutorial at JointedRail.com.
When I start my TRS22 PE version, I can find "JR SL Signals"; done by "Wearsprada" ...
and
"Safetran CLight Signals" done by norfolksouthern37 (I think he made the Smart Signal Properties tutorial at JointedRail.com.)

So far all seems to be fine, but in the options for both signal system I miss the option for "Diverging Route is Unbonded".

Actually I just find a new option " Display Lunar Lens on Lower Head for Restricted Indication"?

How can I get a red over white aspect for an unbonded track (e.g. yard); like I could do with the "Diverging Route is Unbonded" option on 06 (junction) signals ?
- when I did watch the DHTrainz videos, all was clear and simple... but with the changed properties menu in TRS22 .... ?!

I hope you can help me...

greetings

It's pretty simple. " Display Lunar Lens on Lower Head for Restricted Indication" works just the same as the "Diverging Route is Unbonded". Just tick the " Display Lunar Lens on Lower Head for Restricted Indication" box and it will give you the red over lunar you are looking for. To check and be sure, when you tick that box place a forward facing locomotive ahead of the signal and set the switches for your diverging yard track and you should see a diverging Lunar indication.

Well , I thought it would work like that.
But it doesn't !
When I use a "JR SL 06 Signal" or "Safetran CLight 06 Signals"and I check "Display Lunar Lens on Lower Head for Restricted Indication" , I just get a red over yellow ( the yard track is empty, just the buffer at the end ) or I will get two red lights ( e.g. cars on the yard track ).
In the tutorial videos of DHTrainz, you could see a red over WHITE , while the yard track were blocked with cars.

At the moment I just can say the signal logic seems to be broken or my logic is broken and I do a mistake...
I don't know what to do ?

There has been a recent update to these signals.
In Content Manager, search for JR SL.
Select all the signals.
Right-click and choose List Asset Versions.

A new window will open up.
Look for anything that is available for download.

I think the message says: "New version available to download.", or something similar. Some may only say download.

Download everything that's available.

Jointed Rail Smart Signal library v1.81 was uploaded to the DLS last month <KUID2:45324:555100:24>.

Follow the previous post's instructions and you should have it. This will allow both options of unbonded routing for the 06 and 08 signal types.
The option to display the lunar lens is only something that applies if the signal is displaying restricting, it does nothing to set the signal, just the lens color.
Unbonding the route does force the signal to restricting when that junction is thrown.
While operating in Driver mode it is possible to force certain signals to display restricting from their view-details dialog. This is mostly for AI driver unsticking.
Additionally most signals capable of it will display a restricting when a direction mark is facing against them.

You also have to rotate the diverge direction so that it is just a dotted line (it's a few clicks to getting it to disable the blue/purple icon) couple that with the lunar white checkbox and is pretty cool. Another one I like is configuring an 08 interlock signal with a red/yellow/green display (slow approach restricted). To get that requires an unbonded/lunar 06 signal to be configured (dwarf or fullsize).

I have said this before. I exclusively use the searchlight signals both by norfolksouthern37 and wearsprada (though wearsprada's are listed now as obsolete, but they still work).

Thank you for your help!

Okay, where to start...?

The content manager tells me :

1. Jointed Rail Smart Signal library v1.81b
---> I cannot find a newer version on DLS

2. If I select all JR SL Signals, ---> list Asset Version ----> I get "Built-in" (no option to download a newer version of those signals)

I will rebuild the track layout of DHTrainz tutorial APB part2 and report to you ...

Thank you

Well, I did rebuild the situation out of the tutorial video (DHTrainz) and "it doesn't work"...?!?

I don't know what I am doing wrong..?

I see "Jointed Rail Smart Signal library v1.81b" in my Content Manager, but I have no "unbonded" option for 06 signals.
All I get:

1. Display Lunar Lens on Lower Head ...
2. Limited Diverging Route
3. Show Advanced Appr. Aspect
4. Approach Lit
5. Operate in Automatic

That is all !
No option for "unbonded"

The JR SL signals are shown as "Built-in"

The Safetran CLight signals are shown as "Packaged"

No option to download "newer" signal versions !

This is very annoying...
You all say: "It is working" ; but unfortunately not for me...

Where is the problem?
I really need a good idea and help

A TRS22 route without the option for "unbonded" 06 signals is nonsense!

I need help...

I just noticed that the KUID number for my Jointed Rail Smart Signal library v1.81 is different to <KUID2:45324:555100:24>

The Jointed Rail Smart Signal library v1.81b" in my Content Manager shows KUID2:45324:555100:25 (with status: ThirdParty)

What does that mean ?
And what is to do ...?

After hours of testing...
.. and as additional info for you: I am using TRS22 PE Build 132285

1. Jointed Rail Smart Signal library v1.81b doesn't work together with my ...
-> JR SL signals are shown as "Built-in"
-> Safetran CLight signals are shown as "Packaged" ( I downloaded from DLS; norfolksouthern37)
How can I get JR SL Signals and Safetran CLight signals which will work together with Jointed Rail Smart Signal library v1.81b ?
2. I deleted "Jointed Rail Smart Signal library v1.81b" KUID2:45324:555100:25
--> after that "Jointed Rail Smart Signal library v1.77a" was active KUID2:45324:555100:20"
AND(!) I got the "unbonded" option which did work...
I hope the rest will work too, till we find a solution for my problem: "How can I get signals which will work together with Jointed Rail Smart Signal library v1.81b"
Bye the way; I get this strange KUID2:45324:555100:25 Jointed Rail Smart Signal library v1.81b while I was downloading the suggested <KUID2:45324:555100:24> ????
Any ideas ...

HoboTom

You are correct - Yesterday when I posted it was <KUID2:45324:555100:24> but now it is <kuid2:45324:555100:25> Jointed Rail Smart Signal library v1.81b

I sent some updates to the DLS at some point not related to this thread. This is the latest version and the one I currently have installed and 100% works with the available signals.

TRS22_ENbDTCuLU0.jpg

Here is an example - the unbonded setting is path based now, it is represented by the icon with the dotted branch.

Aaahhh... ?!
Thank you very much for your answer and screenshot, norfolksouthern37.

Now we are close to catch the fox!
Your screenshot and explanation about the icon with the dotted branch makes sense.
I am new to TRS22 and I never have seen or heard about this new icon.

I just tested it with my signal test route and your Safetran CLight signals.
The script v1.81b took over the old properties of afternoon test ( script v1.77a); and the icon with dotted line was shown up.
-> and manually I could switch through the diverge icons.

When I just selected the dotted branch icon, I didn't get a red over white on the signal.
But as soon as I checked the option "Display Lunar Lens...Bottom Head" ,it started to work perfectly fine.

Is this the correct setting for an unbonded branch with the new signal script ?
--> dotted branch icon + option display lunar lens...

Finally you could show me the problem and my mistake.
Thank you!

❗By the way, could you provide an actual tutorial /video ,where you show to new TRS22 user how to take the best out of your script and signals ?❗
many thanks (y)
