JointedRail stuff [screenshots/renders]

ATSF locomotives used to have the places they were based out of written on the frame. Hopefully this unit has ARN otherwise everyone will have to run them on Joe's or Nikitka's San Berdoo route.

I am pretty sure all of them have Barstow as the home shop. I can't find an example otherwise if that isn't the case.

These will have the dash 2 cab so yea they have cabs. They don't have brand new cabs, but all the dash 2 cabs will be replaced sometime soon.

As your average Joe I don't know much about the locomotives' specifics (such as how most of ATSF's SD45s were based out of Barstow), it was just an assumption extruded from the observation where other ATSF engines have place names on the side (eg, LA or Hobart). Thank you for the clarification and I look forward to it's release.

Yeah, I don't normally post here but I just had to know. It's those small details that really stick out so it got me curious. Thanks again for the reply.

Very nice , the blue bonnet will have a home when it gets turned loose. @ justin any remote chance you would consider a "B" unit version of this ?

I admit to not being as familiar with ATSF motive power as I am with SP,...

And I just should have stopped right there, because the model IS an SD45-2, as pointed out below by dlohrmeyer. Great article link, too. Thank you for providing that!

Mea culpa. Fantastic model! Looking forward to being able to purchase it when available.

MSP

(part removed: but the gorgeous model shown earlier is not an SD-45, but an SD-24, correct? It doesn't have the flared rear radiators like an SD-45, and the dyn brake blister does not extend to the flared radiators, which I 'think' are distinctive markers for an SD-45. Did ATSF have 'B' units of SD-24's? Or am I completely wrong about this model?)

The models Justin post are SD45-2's, the B unit posted just above is an SD45B, the Santa Fe did have SD45-2B's as well. Here's a link to an article with everything you would ever want to know about the Santa Fe SD45-2's:

Are you kidding? I LOVE B units - and nobody ever complains about them not having a custom cab. ;)

the SD45-2B will be along to join these new ones shortly I am sure. I did consider doing the SD45B a while back, but there were only 2 of those and I moved on to something else before I got the chance.

I thank you sir, the "B" units will always have a home with me. sorry to hear they will not have "custom" cabs . but on the bright side you won't have to worry about the non custom items showing up on a "custom" built route! but they will be just fine on my not so "custom" home-built route!

Well here's a video of the CSX C40-8W's in YN3. Grabbed the pack since they are the current item of the week, and I love them! Great work!
