JointedRail stuff [screenshots/renders]

Here's something intriguing that I've been thinking about: This has got to be the most exciting time in JointedRail's history, of all the time they've been around. I'm not kidding either.

No, it means it's probably a work in progress.

But then again, I have huge respect for JR and RRMods. Not sure about anyone else....

Speaking as someone that has worked on the scripting and programming side of mods for other games I think some people need to realize that just because a 3D model is finished it doesn't mean that the whole project is ready for release. Yeah the 3D model is the most visible part of the item, but it might as well be a wood block if the guts inside it aren't there. You can spend as much time getting that model to work as you did modeling it in the first place. That's all without even talking about all the work that has to be done on the cabs for each model since there's several variations. As shown in some screenshots, these are featuring a lot of new things that have never been seen in a JR locomotive before outside of the RBMN betas. Who knows what other features haven't been announced yet that still require lots of work. Then assuming they have gotten all that down pat they have testing and all the quality control stuff that is even more important for these as people are going to be paying for them. If you think waiting is bad go read some of the forums of games that were rushed to release just to meet a deadline and are unplayable without a patch after people shelled out 60+ USD for them. Besides think about all the stuff they have released just in 2012 alone, including freeware, that had to go through this entire process. I don't mean to step on anyone's toes with this rant, but some of you people out there have a severe sense of entitlement that just about warrants the title of "gimme-or-I'll-shoot-this-kitten-pig".

Awesome hoppers Justin!

But of course, Joe built the models, you just applied ICG colors.

Wonder if Ryan is going to do a Rock Island version...

We just lowered the standards in the HR dept... ;) I really have no idea, I assume it's on the DLS. One day Amy Winehouse appeared in my engines, it all went downhill from there... ;)

that depends. if i show a screenshot of it will that mean it was done a year ago?

*twilight zone theme*

On a more serious note. Don't pay attention to a**h**** like that. Anyone says that kinda stuff, the rest of us will stomp their guts out for you. Keep the amazing content coming. Loving the new grain hoppers, btw. Another question, Are there plans to make any of the tan-colored hoppers/gondolas (I honestly don't know what they're classified under) that I think are used for rock or phosphate down here in Florida with CSX? If I can find a pic, I'll post it so you know what I'm talking about.

Are you talking about one of these guys? Or maybe these (pretty odd shape to them)?

I think those are the ones! Used in regular service here in the BV. These cars were conversions by the Coast Line I'm pretty sure right here in Tampa. I would love to eventually be able to have accurate phosphate cars for unit trains like that. I'm sure the JCH's will be done as well as time permits, it's a fascinating operation that goes on down here 24/7.

I used to haul fuel out of Port of Tampa all through that area. Bone Valley and FMRR was my regular stomping grounds. Now that they are running ethanol, the guys that I used to work with are loading at FMRR directly off of the tankers in New Eagle. You are right, it is quite the busy operation through the Heart of Florida!
