JNR 42"

Trying to find track for these locos.
All I could find (except the CO 42" track) have the loco flanges sitting on the track instead if between the rails.
Also I would like a darker ballast than the CO track.
Can anyone direct me to any alternatives.
Thanks
Stuart.

Thanks I have tried that.
Lots of 42" track but these locos (JNR) sit on top.
All but the CO track has the loco flanges running on top of the rails.
I was looking for track where the flanges sit inside the rails as per prototype.
Maybe the JNR are not 3'6" gauge?
What track should I use?

I think that you will find the creator of the track did not adhere to the specified height for the rail head. It MUST be 300mm from the base. Too low and the wheels float above, too high and the treads sink into the rail head.

I believe that the JBR was made for a specific track, apparently the CO track you mention. Try connecting the CO track to a default Auran track. You will see the difference.

You might get away with swapping the bogies but this will not alter the ride height of the bodies.

Try 44640:38003. The flanges are definately inside the rail but the tyres are just a fraction above.

Thanks all
The NZ track works fine and looks okay.
Time now to get those lovely steamers running through some appropriate scenery.
Thanks
Stuart.
