jerky motion while driving

I am not sure what is causing this issue but when I drive or start moving the train you can see a jerky like motion and no, I am not changing the reverser and throttle position very quickly. Also as a side note I am using K&L trainz C&O k4 Kanawha on the C&O hinton route.

Hinton can be a killer on performance, depending on your hardware, does that loco do this on other routes?

Could be your settings are too high, but depends on your hardware as well. I'd try lowering some settings, maybe turn off shadows and see if performance improves.

As said above and also exclude your Trainz content and program folder from your antivirus scanner. The constant scanning of everything can cause awful performance problems.

Also, defrag your hard drive if this is a regular hard disk. This should be done more often than not due to the large number of files being opened and closed, and very important after an install and upgrade.

Perhaps you are expecting too much from your hardware? Have you tried reducing your settings? Can you give us some specs on your equipment?

bdubtrain - Have you checked that your CPU isn't overheating during gameplay and thus undergoing thermal throttling of the processor? Suggest clean the CPU cooler elements and fan(s) and re-apply thermal compound/ paste between the cooler and the CPU. Also check for optimal case airflow and GPU cooling if applicable.
I recently upgraded my CPU cooler to a bigger, beefier unit on my old rig's Devil's Canyon i7 4790k processor and saw a drop of nearly 20 degrees Celsius throughout the range of operation and especially under load.
Couple of things that might help that don't cost a cent to upgrade.
* 1st thing is to upgrade to TRS19 SP2, as that is definitely smoother and much less CPU-intensive than earlier versions.
* 2nd thing to ensure is that you have updated all of the assets that are out-of-date or designated faulty in Content Manager. You'll be amazed just how much a single faulty asset can affect gameplay performance.
Good luck with this quest!

Another thing to check is what your PC has running in the background. Some apps are very memory-hungry. For example, I was running "Einstein At Home" on Boinc!. It was supposed to idle while Trainz was running, but wasn't, and my frame rates were very bad when running through built-up areas. I eliminated that project and Boinc! this week, and voila, Trainz is smooth as silk.

:B~)

Back to basics, what hardware?

As in CPU, GPU amount of ram and type of hard drive TRS19 is installed on.
