Is this possible?

Hi all,

being energy efficient I am looking to save time when adding the trackside scene by combining a grass spline and a fence spline into one asset so that grass and fence are laid simultaneously :) I am not sure if it is possible as so far I have failed to combine my two chosen splines.

I have found grass and fence splines that I can download but I would still be interested to know if it is possible to create a new spline asset by combining two existing ones.

Thanks, Andy

Hi
I not too sure; but I think that jankvis has already done a few fence splines with grass.

Belkenn

Thanks Belkenn, I have the splines made by jankvis but didn't realise until I checked in Content Manager :o What I would prefer to have though is a barbed wire fence with grass combined.

Meaningfull Title heading

Just a friendly hint, when you enter a Title, make it meaningful, I know people see Titles like "Is this possible" or "Help please", the don't get a lot of look'ins and replies.

Cheers, Steve

.....learn how to use GMax then I could make it for myself.....

An alternative to GMAX is Blender (also free and still supported, unlike GMAX).

The latest version of Blender, with a much improved user interface (just my opinion) is 2.56. This is still in Beta test but stable and usable for Trainz. Links to Blender and the Trainz exporter for Blender, which you will need, can be found in this thread:

"Weidezaun Spline" (builtin to TRS2006 onwards) is the best looking barbed wire fence IMHO. It would look even better with builtin grass.

itareus - Thanks for the advice. It doesn't matter whether it is GMax or Blender I am going to have to learn new skills either way. From what I have read in the forums Blender seems to be the thing to start with so thanks for the link

Lewisner -I agree, this is a great looking barbed wire spline

goochy -Thanks for your contribution but with respect I am not quite sure how you feel sufficiently qualified to criticise my thread title? At the last check this thread has had 204 views in 24hrs and my question has not only been answered but the thread has been added to by highly repsect users. :hehe:

That would be a great time saver. Why don't you give Jan a nudge and see if he can make up some with his assorted grasses and wild plants and shrubs. I would say barbed and 3bar are the most common fences used.

He already does a 3 bar version but a barbed wire version would be a great asset. I will drop him a PM to see if he would be prepared to consider it :D

Here's a friendly hint. I'd get my grammar correct before I started bitching at people.:hehe:
