Is there something about me or the way I am that some members simply do not like?

Hi Trainzers,

I didn't want to have to post this, but it's become necessary.

I've noticed in a few threads lately that users have been negative towards me and a few of my posts (and at one point even behind my back in response to another user), which is making me wonder if they simply have something against me, whether it's simply something wrong with my posts.

I realise that I can be a bit negative at times on controversial topics, but that's partly due to the fact that I have problems recognising what people are trying to tell me (for example if it's unclear), which I believe may be a part of my autism.

Please be honest with me if you have a problem with me or something I have posted, as I don't want to fall out with anyone here, and want to understand where I am going wrong. It may be that I am misunderstanding the point of some posts, which I can only apologise for. I want to be respected for what I do here and in other forums, and being able to understand where I'm going wrong will help me with that.

True, but it worrying me - it makes me feel that I can't do anything right without offending someone. I just want to be able to help the best way I can - perhaps I'm being too hasty or something. I've been here too long to want to leave the community, but it does make me wonder whether I'm seeing things right.

Thankyou Peter. It does make me feel a little better, although I'm hoping that those who simply don't like me would be honest with me on what I'm doing wrong and how I can rectify my mistakes.

You are doing a nice job most of the time.

The few times it goes wrong is when your enthusiasm to help people is contra productive for the topic.
This topic for example. The topic was started to learn why people do not pledge, not to learn people how to pledge. In your enthusiasm to learn people how to pledge, you ended up demotivating people to actually post.

If I were you, I would not worry to much about it and keep up the good work.
 
Thankyou for your post oknotsen. It's posts like that that do help me to understand where I'm going wrong, and where I can learn from my mistakes.

With 18,000 posts you're bound to come across a few odd people, don't forget some people get entertainment from provoking people. If people stay on issues rather than personalities life is easier but many haven't discovered this yet.

Thankyou for your post John. I agree with you regarding the fact that some seem to get entertainment from provoking others, and that if people stayed on issues rather than personalities life is definitely easier - just wish some would realise that. (and yes, I have come across quite a few 'odd' people in my time)

Spot on John. The balance of probability says you will encounter some problems with that many posts. Don't allow that to destroy your enthusiasm.

Thankyou Peter. I agree that it does seem to be a natural hazard, although when it does happen, it seems to happen quite badly (must just be bad luck I'd say).

Shane, as far as Im concerned, youre nothing but helpful to the trainz community both by your excellent tutorials and advice you give here on the forums.
 
Thankyou Richard. I just wish that people thought about it before they post something that's likely to offend another user (I do, but even then it still seems to happen).

Cookies, KFC Chicken, Fine Whiskey & Expencive Cigars

Over 12 years ago, I got WebTV (it was so slow dial up) ... I immediately became addicted to the internet, and I would get like 3 hours sleep and go to work all bleary eyed.

A couple years later I finally got a PC with a CRT monitor, and it was so slow, that a claw hammer somehow accidentally smashed it, and I threw it out the 3rd story window, still connected to a 30 foot extension AC power cord, just to make sure that it was completely done.

Years later we recieved a second hand integrated graphics laptop. One day the one black Kat was walking across the keyboard (typing with his putty' footz'), and my GF ripped him off the PC, with him grabbing a hold of, and with his claws ripping the 3, 4, W, E, D keyboard key buttons clean off the keyboard (sticky tape now holds the keys back in place).

My boss was always rush, rush, rushing me, even though I did 75% of the work, over that of my other lazy co-workers. I think my boss hated me, as when I asked for a raise of a dollar an hour after 6 years, he said: "A dollar !!! ... I might be able to give you a raise of a dime, or 15 cents, or a quarter" ! He really started to hate me, that very second, as I let a ripper loose in his office, and called him a couple dozen foul worded names.

I asked for my 2 week vacation ... and he denied it saying: "You can't take it all at one time ... You can leave each day 15 minutes early, and add the vacation hours up ... or you can work right on through your 2 week vacation ... and that way you'll get paid "Double Time" ... I snapped back at him loudly, using some more choice foul words ... something about placing particular items where the sun don't shine.

At the Chistmas party they had all custom iced monogrammed Italian cookies, with all the other guys names written on them (except for me, as they forgot to get a custom cookie made, with my name on them), So I got them back, and shoved all 8 cookies in my mouth, right in front of the whole crew. They all, now really hated me too !

I was asked to stay late and work, and after the boss and everybody else left for the evening, I cranked back in the boss's chair, and smoked up all his expensive cigars, and drank up all his antique partially filled bottles of imported WWII whisky, purposely leaving all the evidence in place. For when he came in the next day, his seat was still hot from my butt, as I had stayed over all night long, all cranked back in his chair, and he has now really mad as a hornets nest, seeing stogie butts all over creation, bottles strewn all over the office, with KFC chicken bones all over his desk ... He now, really, really hated me, as I confessed to being the perpetrator, and informed him that his cigars stunk, and that his whiskey really was nasty stuff !

I remember that day like it was just yesterday ... it was my birthday ... and I said to a co-worker: "Ya' know ... I really hate this place" ... "I'm not going to come to work anymore" ... What do you mean ? You're just not gonna' go any more ? How are you going to pay your bills ? "I really don't like paying bills anyway, so I'm just not gonna' do that either" !

The next day ... I stayed home, and dint' call in sick ... nobody called me ... and the next day I dint' call in sick ... and nobody called me ... I don't think they really care, or love me at all ... As I dint' quit ... and nobody even called my home, to fire me, or to ask if I was in a car accident, or was in the hospital ... I am starting to think they really don't care at all, and really do hate me ! ? !

It has been 13 years, and nobody has called to fire me yet ... so I suppose I am still working there, as a ghost employee ... IDK ? ?

I sit by the phone, all disheveled ... waiting for them to call ... I am starting to think that no one is going to call ? ? ?

They don't even love me ... Do they ? ? ?
