A couple of questions about UK Locos and Engine Sounds

Again, couldn't find a suitable forum, so maybe the mods will move it if it needs to be moved.

Anyway, didn't I see a HST 125 for sale a few years ago, or did I dream it?
I think it had a custom cab too.
Wouldn't have a clue where to look for it now.

The other question I have is engine sounds for UK locos.
Are there replacement engine sounds on the DLS for any of the UK locos?

Some of the engine sounds are fine to me, as I wouldn't know one from the other generally (except for the Class 20, which I know very well), so I'm quite prepared to go through all the locos I have and replace all the engine sounds I don't like (or don't work quite right) with the ones I do like.
I know most of you here couldn't bear to hear the wrong engine sound coming from a loco engine. ;)
So, before I go through that process, I thought I'd ask just in case there are appropriate engine sounds available somewhere.

Cheers. :)

Diesels or steam engines, - because you didn't specify the type of locomotives you wanted engine sounds for.
Good point! :)
For me, it's diesel, usually 80s to 90s mainly, but I like a lot of modern locos too.
We're talking 25s-33s, 37s, 40s-47s, 50s, 66s, and then as many DMUs and HST styles as I can find!

I haven't checked the engine sounds on all the above yet, as I'm just starting the process of which ones work, and which ones are buggy or poor quality.
There's some strange 'flange' sounds going on with a couple of engines I tried yesterday, really odd sounding.
I don't know if it's down to N3V's attempt at the Doppler effect that's causing it, or whether it's just the loco sounds itself.

So far, a lot of engines sound fine, so I just want to replace those that don't, and before I start 'aliasing' the good engine sounds into the bad-sounding locos, I wondered what was out there.

And I really should use more steam trains in Trainz.
They're works of art (in the World I mean, not any particular Trainz model).

Cheers.

Couldn't find ed6, so I suppose you meant edh6, and wow, seriously large collection of steam trains.
I'm downloading a large amount of them right now (CM is really busy downloading them, and I've used up more than 9gb of hard drive already!).
And so many Welsh locos too, including a load of Ffestiniog locos. (y). You'd think I'd have all those by now, wouldn't you?!
Really looking forward to running some of those when I get back in tonight.

And speaking of edh6...thanks for the heads-up on those engine and horn sounds.
As soon as CM has finished, I'll start going through them.

And thanks for all those steam engines too.
Really appreciate it.
Now, if only you were as enthusiastic and passionate about UK diesels as you obviously are about steam...:D...we'd be in Trainz heaven!

Cheers guys. My evening is sorted! (y)
