High speed rail is not worth the money if you dont have the supporting infrastructure. We need a proper system of intercity, regional and urban rail lines before we can start talking about HSR, its like building a house on no foundation. We have huge parts of the country without any train service and the parts that do have largely one train a day, thats what needs to be fixed first.
