Hello.
First , you will be kind to excuse my low quality english. (I am french), then I posted the same text in a bad forum chapter previously.
I own 3 release of TrainZ. (2006, 2010, 2012).

I need some informations about the ground of a ROUTE.
I like to do my own ground corresponding to reality before installing tracks.
Do you now the means to integrate ground data (DEM, SRTM, etc...) in TrainZ 2012?
Is it possible?
Which files are concerned?

thank you for your attention
Alain

Thank you is too few for your information!
I bought it and it is perfect! I made my first Route test on real ground!
TransDem seems to be a software with many functions. I begin to learn.
But... Something still unknown to me.
The Help tell me that it is possible to integrate a 'TRACE'. (KML or KMZ) to the ROUTE
Anywhere I search, I do not find how to integrate this file from Google maps or Google Earth.
(Transdem Menu or TrainZ submenu).
Have you ever integrated a KML information in a TrainZ ROUTE?
Anyway, one more time... Thank you!

If you already have the kml or kmz file, open it in TransDEM as route/vector data. You need have loaded either DEM or raster data first.

Exact and perfect.
Thank you!
However, I wonder about:
1. Use a trace route on Google Earth or... use
2. Transdem with all its facilities to supply terrain textures....
I have not finish to learn.... I continue.
Regards.

Have you tried MapMaker 3i.03? It seems to be a successful program to produce a terrain from DEMs. I am currently working on a program to extract routes from Google earth and insert them into Trainz. If you are interested please contact me.RegardsBev Thompson
