In the best Auran tradition..

The latest Trainz newsletter features some recent Screenshot-of-the-Week winners. All excellent of course, but in the time-honoured Auran way, they have mis-spelled Casper's forum name as "Mozzeprezzo" - 4 times.

It detracts from the idea of recognising someone's achievements if you haven't even bothered to get their name right.

I also noticed that the newsletter has been nothing but promo for content and games now. Instead of upcoming content or an occasional news story.

hert:wave:

N3V tries to mingle inconspicously

Dean,

do not worry to much this is the least of the world's and Trainz problems at the moment.

It could have many reasons but the intend is what counts and even this time of the year the editor was carried away by mozzarella and came up with this.

For sure to me it would not matter to much as I am to many times surprised by let's call them native Americans/English whose writing/grammar is sometimes almost insulting to the language and themselves.
I would be shy to say the least but English is one out of 6.5 languages I carry in my backpack which is hidden in the closet on the attack I not have.
Dean by the way love your stuff it is part of my works and life and makes me feel really good each time i see them.

To end with if you are understaffed which is no shame for any company these dark days and probably years to come we should be happy with the trainz community and N3v with us as this kind of customer/provider relationship in both ways will be rare very rare these days to see with smiles and good energy.

Saw Sarkozy yesterday/this week on tv and first time I see a politicians real face in horror almost crying showing the disaster happening in front of them.

Everybody gets dough from there own cookie and this world has to sit on it and sweat it out and nobody else to blame for what you've done or and not done about it not to happen.

Hopefully the end of communism, capitalism any ism maybe we just try to be normal people which is already difficult enough.

happy trainzing, happy trainz world no police in that world only mods:hehe: :hehe: :p

have a great day

Roy;)

What really detracts is that they were trying to spell "Euphod"! They constantly confuse ME, (the true master of pleasant screenshots) with this Mozzo...Mezzo person!:hehe:

@ aardvark - thanks for pointing that out, I didn't know it had been raised before as I only got the newsletter today. Didn't mean to waste electronic ink.

@ joosten - from a spelling mistake to the the end of capitalism in one paragraph. How did you do that?

@ Ed - "Euphod" and "Mezzoprezzo" both contain the letter "E" so you can understand how easy it would be to confuse the two names.
:p

haha dino u not follo the news

:p

everything in one paragraph because we have to safe energy and space.

Watch the news only evening 5-6:30 and see how the belgians to manage without government for 1,5 year, forming a non majority win election government ending up the winners in the opposition and the new PM cannot even speak proper Dutch not even talk bout misspellings coz he cannot write for sure dutch at all.
That is what i call the blooper of the century.

Misspellings, lazy forum members not willing to check spelling in their native language it all adds up to the same result and asking for things to go down the drain sooner than later.

By the way the letter "E" appears also one time in my last name and that so far they not misspelled.

hihi love my misspellings try to mimic the other ones looks really cool:cool:

Name changes

Still waiting!

I’m in good company though. Euphrod (the well known common typing error) has not escaped scot-free either, but as far as I know it had been Forum members who have got it wrong. The parent company have always got it right!

A Monday fix was promised. A second Monday is coming up!

I can only think that the reason for the failure to make the appropriate amendment is due to one or more of the following:
  • Changing the name appended to an image is more difficult than changing a light bulb (just how many N3V staff does it take?)
  • Insufficient programming skills
  • Still working on a latest “name change” fix
  • Beta testing of said “name change” is being extended for normal than longer (to ensure fault free correction)
  • N3V don’t like me (I’m not sure Auran did either)
  • TRS2004 is no longer supported

You have to keep a sense of humour!

@Dinorius_Redundicus
Thanks for the moral support. However, the capitalised “M” in my name is wrong, but I’m happy to take the temporary elevated status.

Perhaps I should consider changing my Forum name, using something really far removed, avoiding “E”s and “Z”s.

LOL, you guys!

By the way, the Trainz Collector's Edition banner at the top of the forum index still says "Colectors". :o

Retro.

Hi Retro,

Sorry, N3V did not renew their FCT for the Spell Check Program.

Also, fooly is still the newest forum member, since August.

~sigh~

Regards,
Ron

I think they could have had the decency to do a speedy correction given that it was promised.

To many it must seem such a fuss over what seems to be a simple spelling mistake.

It’s just that some of us are a little sensitive, particularly when our work is used for publicity.

I don’t think I’ll be buying any future AllBran products ... even if they do give you a good run for your money!
