In-game screenshots

Hello all,

As with most projects, I need screen grabs to show my work however whenever I take one it appears as a black screen in Microsoft Paint when I paste it. This has never happened before so I am at a loss to understand what is happening. Can someone explain and recommend a solution?

Have you looked in the <trainz install folder>/UserData/screenshots folder (if using TS12, as T:ANE cannot currently do screenshots)?

As Shane has partially explained, there is no need to actually paste anything into MS Paint. A screenshot is automatically sent to your UserData\Screenshots folder. In TS12 these are .jpg files, and TS2010 and below they're .tga files.

Instead of MS Paint, use Free Irfanview to batch conversion a TGA to be a jpg

The latest version of TS2009 also uses .jpg instead of .tga.

Jcitron, TC3 uses .tga if I remember correctly. Thought the feature is broken in TC3 for unknown reasons.
