Fred what are you doing yet another superb road?

beautiful shot of the dirt road can't wait to test it on my work!
Haha in our little world we love potholes in the contrary of the real world:hehe:

thanks Fred for your nice stuff and picts very inspiring to say the least.

Roy:cool:

Thanks Roy! I'm tweaking the dirt road and working on a pothole section for it. When I get it down a little better, I'll post another screenie.

Cheers,
Fred

Excellent road, Fred. I have your Z Funky Road 1 and it is excellent, and I am already using it. ;) Keep up the great work! :D

Regards

Thanks Retro. I've uploaded Z Funky Road 2A and 2B to USLW. It's waiting on approval. We all have other things in our lives besides Trainz, so, hopefully, it will be available within a week or so.

Cheers,
Fred

P.S. Heck, my wife and I are having a new house built. How's that for a project? :D

There... This gravel road needed a pothole section.

I don't know. Do you have cookies enabled? Others seem to be able to download it without a problem. Hope you get it sorted out.

Cheers,
Fred

I haven't made any changes but it looks like I can't download anything from USLW now which I've never had a problem before. Should cookies be enabled or not?

Wandering off-topic, but at USLW I have to use IE, but even so still need to click on the text link 'Download will start in x seconds, if you are having difficulties click here' (or whatever) - it's just below the 'Donate' button.

Back On Topic - another great looking road Fred ;)

That was it Dermmy. I made some additional security adjustments to IE and use the link you referred to and it seems to be working now. I've always used Firefox in the past at USLW with no hiccups. Anyway at least there's a work around so I'm good.

Can't wait to find a spot for that great looking road on my route.

Great shot and great road Fred. I've been looking for a road of that calibre for a long time and I'll be happy to use it when/if it is uploaded to USLW.

Gisa ^^

Thanks mates! I think a few brief words of explanation for this project may be in order here. I've been modelling Iona Island on the Hudson River lately. It was formerly a US naval armory which has been closed down for many years and is now a bird sanctuary, closed to the public. All but a few of the 35 buildings are gone, but many of the old roads still remain. They are in various states of disrepair. Although there are some distressed roads available for Trainz, none of them were what I really wanted. Iona Island is the perfect place to model them. Hence, the Funky Road series.

One of the problems that I've encountered along the way was how to make roads with potholes that don't look repetitious and unrealistic. The solution is to make a pothole section that can be placed individuallly between the regular sections of road. I think this method is simple and works quite well. Using it, a route builder can easily create "40 Miles of Bad Road". :)

I hope you enjoy them as much as I am making them.

More Funky Roads to come...

Cheers,
Fred

...Looks like another cheery day in the Hudson Valley, Too bad It's actually grey and dark out! Lovin' the route Fred, as always.

Thanks. That actually sounds good to me today. It's going to be another 100 degree day along the Mississippi.

Fred, what are the houses??

Thanks

Jamie

The white frame house in the foreground is

Farmhouse <kuid:101031:26026> by Richo.

The two story house behind it is

NorthEast 32 <kuid2:33404:506850197:2>

and the cafe is

Muncie-Series-Home-Cafe <kuid2:33404:502294:3>

...both were created by dmdrake. I believe all can be found on the DLS.

Cheers,
Fred

P.S. I think the downloading issue at USLW has been fixed now.

Howdy Fred, it has been far too long my friend! I'm making a trip to Saratoga to see my uncle next month and decided to try Amtrak for the first time... so I've got tickets for the Adirondack northbound and the Ethan Allen southbound, I'm leaving from Rhinecliff so let me know if you'd like pictures from there, I plan on getting there early and will have time to kill. It's a very nice old station there, plus I feel my Jeep is safer there than Poughkeepsie, haha. The route is looking amazing as always!
