How would TRS2006 run on a Macbook (With Bootcamp)?

Hi,
I just recently purchased a Macbook, and will be using Bootcamp to install Vista on it - as there are a few programs I need that are not available for OS X. How would TRS2006 run on it? Would it be to choppy to play?

Here are my Macbook Specs:

2.4 Core 2 Duo Processor
2 Gigs of Ram
144mb Intel X3100 Graphics Processor

Yes, it would be choppy:
1. You only have 2 GB of RAM. If you are running OSX, bootcamp, Vista and trainz off of this small amount, then you are only going to have a small amount dedicated to trainz.

2. You are using a laptop, which means the graphics card will be built onto the motherboard, and it might not be the best card ever.

3. You only have 144MB of GPU (graphics) memory. Again, this is a very small amount.

Captain_Collins is right it will be very hard to play on that laptop maybe even impossible to play on it that it would so laggy.

Captain_Collins,
I think you're thinking of Parallels. From my understanding, Bootcamp actually partitions the hard drive to add another OS, and the OS would run independently of OS X. It's doesn't "virtualize" the seperate OS like Parallels, so when I run Vista the Macbook should focus all computing power on JUST Vista.

If that is the case, and my Macbook does focus all computing power on just Vista, how would TRS2006 run?

NO!!!!!

NOT VISTA!!!!!

anyway, it won't work.

vista is not on the system requirements.

aside from that, you can use XP which works fine with 06 and 04.

and, don't use a macbook!

mac minis work just fine.

only kidding!

mac books work well with parallels desktop.:D

The graphics card will be the killer. You need the 3D Acceleration along with the pixel shaders and other stuff to work properly. A mobile ATI or NVIDA would be better. 144MB for RAM for the video means that it is shared memory stolen from the system. This too will definitely cause a performance issue. You'd end up setting all of the sliders to the left to get any performance at all. Adding more memory may help, but then again your system, besides the video, needs a lot of RAM to run the OS and Trainz. This may only help the video a little bit because you could then allocate more for the video. You want to allocate as much of the RAM to the complete system as well as a generous amount to the graphics.

This does not mater whether it's XP or Vista. Both of these operating systems require generous amounts of resources to run properly, and to allow Trainz and other applications to run without being crippled.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Thanks for your replies everyone!

I have just set up XP on my iMac (24" C2D 1gb). I have no problems running 2006, though I think the iMac may have a better video card than a basic Macbook. Yesterday I was running the download station while I was flying around Qld with FS X. It was strange hearing the download complete sound in the cockpit of the C-172!:)

I currently have a Dell 17" LCD plugged into the external monitor port of the iMac. I was able to Alt+Tab between FS X and Content Manager (fullscreen on the Dell) without any adverse effects.
